The Hotel Roi Christophe is a nice place to stay in Cap Haitien. It has an old world charm about it. The rooms are spacious, the showers hot and the food is delicious. There are beautiful verandas and wireless internet connection. The hotel is within walking distance of the pier where you can buy locally made Haitian souveniers. The hotel... more

We stayed at Roi Christophe one night before moving on to the fabulous Cormier Plage (we arrived in Cap too late to go all the way to Cormier), and well, let's say that I'm glad we stayed here *before* staying at Cormier b/c it would have been quite a step down. The rooms are pretty much atrocious, although they are... more

I traveled to Cap Haitien with a group of 11. We were there to provide dental care to children at various schools throughout the week. We stayed at the Hotel du Roi Christophe which is pretty much centrally located for our needs. The staff each morning were wonderful. The breakfast, though light, was delicious. Fresh toasted bread (not Wonder Bread!!)... more

I just returned to Boston from my first real vacation in Haiti. Prior to this trip, I had spent 1-day in Labadee while travelling on a RCL cruise (Labadee is a privatized beach/tourists area run by RCL) . My husband, who is originally from Cap Haitien, suggested spending a week in Haiti and though I possess minimal 'Creole Skills' (honestly,... more

I stayed at the Rio Christophe for two weeks in October. It is a beautiful old building in nice walled gardens. It is an old mansion built by Cristophe to live in while the Citadel was being constructed, then the Du Ponts owned it. So it was protected as the rest of the city sank into squalor. (all this is... more

This was my first trip to Haiti, in June 2005. I have not stayed at any other hotel in Haiti. I stayed at this hotel on 2 nights in different rooms, and was able to visit a suite also. This is a good hotel. There are rooms available with air conditioning or just a ceiling fan. The suites are big.... more

It was so beautiful until I got to the room. This was just average. The TV didn't work and the cost for the room was $69. My interpreter stayed with me so when I checked out they told me the cost would be $83. So the $50 you see here is not right. more

This hotel transcends the charm and beauty of what the city of Cap-Haitian has to offer. It depicts the exuberant tropical nature of this northern coastal paradise. As a native CAPOIS, I grew up admiring its pituresque portrait, journeyed for two weeks in one of its very formidable square rooms. Now despite having been acustomed to hollywood style hotels in... more
