Go for the ambiance, the history, the art, the mean rhum punch, the band RAM, and the architecture. Yes, it needs some repairs. But I know I am in a third world country, and I do not have big expectations. I went to hear the band (they play most Thur nights) and eat the best food in PaP. I enjoyed... More

I don't know if this review will be pulled because I only had a drink in this hotel and didn't stay here. I don't know what condition the rooms are in but the lobby and the outside of the building are well-maintained and beautiful. This is one of the most famous hotels in the world. It is the best-preserved example... More

The saddest thing about this hotel is watching star-struck guests sucking up to Richard Morse (one of those global mega stars nobody has ever heard of) - who is utterly indifferent to them and indeed to all the people who keep this crumbling establishment going. It's Stockholm syndrome in action: If I'm really nice to the owner, maybe the staff... More

The poor service is only rivalled by the wretched condition of this dilapidated hotel. There is little to recommend, aside from the laid back ambiance (reinforced by the speed and general disdain displayed by the staff). Come to the Oloffson, sit back, and watch the hotel decay in front of your eyes. It was perhaps a romantic and nostalgic experience... More

For PaP, the best place. Great history, food, entertainment, connections, and advice. Someone else said it, but leave your western goggles at the door. Don't or moan when things take longer or your ceiling leaks. Look outside the gates and remember how lucky your are. The Creole food is incredible and stay for RAM on Thursday nights. Richard Morse has... More

Look at the photos of the Hotel's webside and if you like them just go there! Nothing is new, but it is probably the most charming place I have ever been and the staff is great! I felt safe and at home away from home! Great food, art, views.....and... and...and...! More

Just what I needed when I wanted to escape the scene of Pétionville and have an unexpected experience. I loved the artsy feeling, music dj by the pool, the cracking uneven floors. Don't expect anything spotless and modern, it seems to be about to colapse but reason more to see it before it does and hey, it survived the quake... More

I stayed here on two separate nights. For the first, I was in room 5. The bathroom itself had mold on the upper parts of the walls, which really should be addressed. This didn't bother me at all, but if I was staying longer or had allergy issues, I might have been upset. The other night I stayed in room... More

If you are artistic, a political lefty, lover of Haiti, all of these, you will love the Oloffson. I was there before, during and after the earthquake. It is and remained even during earthquake streses, the Greenwich Village of Haiti. Of course the famous press stayed at the Plaza, but the intelligent press remained at the Oloffson. It is the...
