This hotel was reasonably "pet-tolerant"; you could sit in the foyer and public areas with beloved pets, but that is now no longer the case. They have a no-pets policy - which appears to be dependent upon who you are. Condo owners seem to be allowed to have their pets in public areas, while other customers are not. Also, they... More

We stayed at the Bannister for one night. Our experience was really good. Bernardo the food and beverages manager was outstanding. He gave us an impeccable service when we were lounging by the pool at Cafe Del Mar, he suggested us amazing drinks and definitely made our stay more enjoyable with his professionalism and friendly approach. We ate at both... More

After spending 4 days on the north side of the Samana peninsula at the all-inclusive Grand Bahia el Portillo, Ibooked 2 nights at the Bannister for my girlfriend and I to enjoy this luxurious boutique hotel set within the exclusive Bahia Port marina. The lobby is amazing with a posh open area looking upon the luxury yachts and sailboats in... More

I stayed in a village/appartment at the mountains of Puerto Bahia Marina & Residences for 6 days and I have no complain. The view of the Samaná Bay from the house was spectacular. At the Bannister Hotel there's gym and restaurants available with great service. The outdoors are amazing for a morning or evening run. The location is a few... More

The marina puerta bahia started about 2010 and is in front of bannisters hotel about 2 miles west of Semana town. Rates at the marina are $1/foot per day plus tax so $48 for a 40 ft boat. This gives access to the infinity pool, tennis courts, spa, restaurants etc which together with the friendly staff and commandante makes a... More

We stayed at the Bannister for 4 nights last week. The common areas of the hotel were beautiful and very well kept. The 2 bars were very nice, had great views, and wonderful drinks. All the staff were attentive and friendly. There is no beach on the property, but if you have been to their website, you probably aren't expecting... More

We stayed here for 5 nights. The staff was way beyond helpful. The atmosphere was terrific. The bed is quite hard though. The room wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped. Better than average of course, certainly not dissappointing. Everything else about the hotel was breathtaking. Would stay again, if I found a good price. Wifi was non existent in... More

I loved this resort however there were some issues. It's very secluded and hard to get anywhere else. I wish there was a resort boat or catamaran that could take you out for sunset cruises, kayaks you could take out, or even paddle boards. I felt like there was nothing I could do besides swim in a pool or take... More

Overall yes the view is beautiful and as well the hotel but in my opinion not worth the money . Stayed for two days , the lights would turn off and on whenever during the night , TV or PHONE was not working . And wifi barely reached the room . Additionally nothing to do throughout the day everything you... More

This hotel is in the secluded yet graceful part of the Dominican, where the water are generally calm because it is inside of the bay. The area is not buggy at all, and the overall atmosphere is great. The hotel lobby is spectacular to look at with a perfect bar right in front of the marina. Also there is 2... More
