We were lucky enough to find the Da'Tonino hotel just by chance on our first trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic back in 2004. We were walking along the beach hoping to find a cute place and sure enough we did! They gave us a good sized room with queen sized bed and private bathroom (in the room) for $50/night (USD). Keep in mind they are about 100 feet from the beach - this was a great deal in between 2 high priced all-inclusive resorts.

This year (2008) when we went again, we made sure to stop by and check availability for rooms. They had 2 connected rooms for us (one for us parents, one for the teenage kids!) each with its own bathroom (yay!). This time we got an even better deal - $75/night for both rooms! ($37.50/room).
