On first impression, this resort blows you away. The grounds and the beach are impeccable. If I could have only slept on the beach instead of my horrid smelling room, I would have been in heaven. Avoid the a la carte restaurants. They really need to hire a chef from America or Europe to bring this resort up a notch.... More

We stayed 4 nights at the Riu Palace Bavaro. The rooms we were given did not have a good view. We asked to upgrade to an ocean view room and were accomodated the second day of our visit. OMG to the last reviewer! If you're looking for truly 5 star than you have pay much more than the affordable rates you get at at Rui resorts. The grounds are impeccably groomed.
