The hotel is located in a pretty garden near a very nice beach. The building itself is asking for a serious refurbishment. There are many walls with peeling paint and it makes it look slightly dingy. Beautiful location and the beach is breathtaking. Not a lot to do at the resort. If you walk far down the beach though locals have market .Shacks set up to barter and buy unique local crafts. Our beds however had bed bugs and the rooms we're very tiny. :(

The food was very good. The drinks were great. The service was slow but very polite and enjoyable. The grounds were beautiful. Everyone on this trip was very polite from the gardener to the front desk to maintainence. I would go back to any Riu hotel. The room was very clean. It was a great experience.

We stayed at the Riu Taino for an annual girls trip and loved every minute of it. The property is great because it is part of several other Riu resorts. Check in was quick with no problems. Staff at the check in very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the bed made every day with fresh towels left. I was at Riu Palace Macao the last week of August, 2010 and went over to Riu Taino. The Riu Taino building is being demolished and in its place Riu is going to build a Riu Palace. Construction just started so is going to take a while. The Taino area has been completely fenced.

My sister and I stayed here from June 12 to 19, 2010. It was a great experience having been our first 'resort' trip in years.
