This is a nice and quiet little hotel. Is comfortable and clean. It is a little distant from the La Romana city. The room I was, is small with like a second floor. Four beds total. The bathroom has a shower, sink, toilets. Big windows, with anti bugs screens. The room is very illuminated. It is a fresh room. There... More

We only stayed here for one night while touring the Dominican Republic but it was just what we were looking for. Small, quiet, comfortable and relaxed. Rooms were simple, clean and airy, bathroom enormous, soap and plenty of other toiletries supplied. Air conditioning worked very well but a little noisy, TV and Wifi good. Mini fridge in room with bottled... More

Liinus who works at the Hotel Vecchia Caserma is very nice (she speaks English, Spanish and Italian). Food was good at this hotel (breakfast is included). When I stayed there, were a group of medical professionals from the United States, who were volunteering their time at local medical clinics, excellent people. Hotel Vecchia Caserma is about 10 minutes from the... More

Staid in this hotel for a couple of nights with my family. We had a loft room which had a queen bed and twin bed downstairs and then 2 twin beds upstairs in the loft. The AC worked pretty good. The bathroom was very spacious. We did have hot water however, there wasn't any hand soap. There was shampoo and... More

Francesca was wonderful! very accommodating. The grounds are spacious for kids to run around. The garden is quaint for the perfect drink and good book. Breakfast was delicious. Staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious with lofts that have two twin beds. The room accommodations were more on a 2 1/2-3star level, but the beds were comfortable and there... More

We just got back from Veccia Caserma after a 1 night stay in the Dominican Republic. We loved it! It is a relaxed, italian owned hotel, with a mediterranean feel to it. The rooms are big and the bathroom is HUGE!! The room had a safe and a mini refrigerator with cold bottled water, which was a plus. As other... More

We stayed here for 3 nights after arriving into Punta Cana (40 minute drive/approx $75 in a taxi). The whole atmosphere of the place was very relaxed. We checked in late but the staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and our requests (inc. free wifi!). The pool area is small but more like a private villa than a hotel... More

We booked this hotel for two nights but left after one. The hotel design is really good and the rooms are large with enormous bathrooms although hand towels and bottled water were not supplied. We did get water when we raised this with the manager later. However, the hotel really is in the middle of nowhere with major road construction... More

Good things: 1) Insect net on all windows - very important in Carribbean (I saw rather big spider in Samana peninsula -Las Terenas and run away- back to Vechia Caserma) 2) Good wi-fi (usually not fully functional in other hotels)- in DR hotels will clame that they have wi-fi but it dosn't mean that you will be able to use...
