Diane and her son Sam are very hospitable. They try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you are used to resorts this is not the place for you. Everything they offer is outlined in their website. Surroundings are nice, river is ok to cool off in. Bar/restaurant ok. Some dogs barking at night. 7 km from the... More

First off its important for people to understand that this is a rustic camp set in the jungle on a beautiful bend in the Munoz river. It is the perfect place for those who recognize that it is not (nor does it claim to be) a resort. If you are a traveler who wants to experience the natural beauty of... More

Suncamp is a must for every nature seeker visiting the Dominican Republic. Especially the house on top of the hill - where we enjoyed our stay. A basic, yet very charming and isolated residence, surrounded by overwhelming nature. But the real star of the show is Diane. The charming Canadian wonderwoman, kindness itself. She'll help you with wathever you need... More

I've just returned from spending 2 weeks at SunCampDR and I can't wait to return! I was a little nervous about going somewhere so different especially as I was travelling alone but my fears soon vanished the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome by everyone there and it had the feeling of being one big family... More

I was here with friends for three weeks while we vacationed in the Dominican Republic. SuncampDR was an amazing place to stay. The people were very friendly and helpful and the nature around it is very nice. There is a nice bend in the river that flows by it, which forms a nice pool in which you can swim. It... More

I wanted a place to volunteer and learn English. My family is not really into the resort thing, and wanted the opportunity to really see Dominican culture. This place was sooo perfect, we can't wait to go back! The owner (Diane) and her son (Samuel) are so nice and welcoming! The atmosphere was extremely laid-back, which is a welcome change... More

I had amazing time here. The people are friendly and warm. The location is very peaceful. No cars and motor Conchos, loud music etc. The y have everything you could possibly require. Cool clean river to swim in. Great food in a open area so you can socialize with other guest if you wish. Quiet relaxing rooms at more than... More

We wanted a more local and authentic experience during our travels in the DR and SunCamp provided it. From the eclectic people that stay here, to the location off the beaten path, to great home cooked meals in shared company with the other guests, dragging the owners dancing to the local 'club' (a room in a house with locals dancing...
