Its just the best hostel I've been. Francia (the owner) is just amazing. The room is really good and have a fair price. If you're looking for kitesurfing in puerto plata, there you can also find Fernando who can show you the spots or give you kite class (iko teacher). The hostel is close to the metro st autobuses, la... More

This is our third stay in Villa Carolina. Our previous stays were business oriented, but this time we took some foreign friends to showcase our beautiful island, specifically the areas of Cibao and Sosua. We decided to stay low budget and support local restaurants (no international chains). Two nights and three days, Francia was super helpful, inmediatly giving us a... More

Francia is an incredibly welcoming and accommodating host. All the rooms are immaculate and serviced everyday by the very friendly Villa Carolina family. The WiFi, pool, and breakfast (complete with mango fresh from the backyard) were added bonuses! I would definitely recommend Villa Carolina to anyone visiting Puerto Plata, looking for accommodation with easy access to the city in a... More

I was lucky to have found this charming, family owned/operated hotel/hostel in Puerto Plata. It is situated in the middle of Puerto Plata close to several markets/groceries and restaurants - the beach/malecon is about a ten-minute walk. The property is in the style of an Italian Villa and features a guesthouse with about 8 rooms with a large inside common... More

Francia and her husband run a lovely hostel. We felt welcomed and attended to. We were booked for 3 days and enjoyed our stay very much. We didn't stay longer due to my husband needing in-room wifi. His job requires him to be reachable 24hrs unfortunately. Francia's husband picked us up from the Metro bus station and we had a... More

We were two guys on our first trip to the Dominican Republic. Villa Carolina was perfect for our needs. A family-owned place with just a few rooms in the centre of Puerto Plata. We had the opportunity both to explore Puerto Plata which felt like a very genuin Dominican city and also we could easily hop on a gua-gua to... More
