After two children and 6 years of marriage my husband and I decided it was time for just the two of us to take a vacation. We had long talked about taking kite boarding lessons in Cabarate so we booked some classes and made reservations at an all-inclusive resort. About two weeks before our trip it hit me that if... Our family (couple with kids 9 and 12) stayed at Tubagua for a couple of days and loved it. We had spent some time laying on the beach and added this as a second stop which just made the whole trip a lot more fun, more interesting, and more memorable. First things first - Tubagua does a LOT with a... More

Spent the middle 3 days there in a 22 day vacation. Peaceful, fun, adventurous, great food, great company, good wi-fi, really cool accommodations, easy-in, easy-out. Not your normal place, however. A quiet respite up in the mountains wth the most spectacular view in the country, especially from the bathroom. Easy to do nothing while having a blast. We did make... More

We just got back from a wonderful time staying at Tubagua Eco Lodge. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place. Restful & Peaceful describe the setting. The views are spectacular, the host (Tim) is hospitable and friendly, and the food is AMAZING. I highly recommend eating breakfast and dinner during... More

In September 2010, I travelled to the DR with my 18 year old niece who had just graduated from high school. We wanted to stay off the beaten track, and were thoroughly enchanted by our adventures whilst spending a week at Tubagua. Tim and staff were very helpful and generous with their time and knowledge, we met a number of... More

Me and my daughter 23 years old stayed for 3 days at this place and we had an amazing time. Words cant describe the experience you have while staying there. The view, the palapas, the food, the exotic, unique and lush environment are something to must experience. It feels very homey and cozy. The food is absolutely delicious and has... More

We stayed three nights at Tubagua and had a wonderful time. Tim is really committed to developing this area to accommodate tourists who will appreciate a rustic and unique experience that supports the local economy while at the same time being very comfortable. The lodge has wonderful sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, and the food was tasty and fresh.... More

The palm roofed wood cabins nestle into the trees and look out from high in the hills over the Puerto Plata coast line. The views are incredible. We woke and looked out from our bed to see the sun rise over the coast. We ate a very tasty communal meal of a variety of different dishes in the restaurant/bar -... More

I feel this is somewhere everyone needs to experience at least once. Head into the jungle for the most amazing time. It was so relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful. We met great people because they are like minded. The gentleman who runs the place has done so much for the community and is so knowledgeable. The food is amazing. Fresh juice... More

I stayed a night here while in the DR and it was a nice change from the beach scene. About 30 minutes from the coast, and 25 minutes from the airport, the location is great and offers spectacular views to the coast and sea. There are plenty of nice walks in the area and the locals that live around the... More
