We reserve the place at Beaterio, the hotel where i always stay when i am in s domingo, but unfortunately there were double booking and so they sent us other place which was dona elvira, which was actually nothing to compare with. No Ac wroking by the arrival, no hot water, the guy on the reception was trying to be... More

This is by far the best B&B I've ever stayed in. The attentiveness of the staff at all hours was really impressive. I stayed here twice during this vacation and it was truly remarkable. The owner took time out to chat and take pictures with us. The food is great!!! Great value for a prime location!! And I'm definitely going... More

A friend recommended this place and I am glad she did. This place is close to the sights and is priced right. The staff are very friendly and speak very good English making the experience even more enjoyable. The manager gave us great recommendations for places to eat and advised against certain tours because they were considered a waste of... More

The good: prime location in the Zona Colonial, in a beautifully restored 1500's residence. Nice courtyard with pool under a big mango tree, and free chilled bottled water for those hot Santo Domingo days. I accidentally left a pair of shoes under the bed and came back a few days later to find that they had set them aside for... More

Everything about this hotel absolutely fascinated me. Love at first sight, my dream house and atmosphere, details, the walls, rooms, high ceilings, fans, service like you arrived to stay with a family that you actually like. Owners showed exquisite taste and a lot of care for details, atmosphere and taste buds. Communication through emails upon arrival was also very neat... More

We stayed 4 nights: a couple w adult son. Pluses: very clean, attentive staff, help managing local transportation, small but nice pool, good location, view from roof deck. Breakfast includes lots of fresh fruit but otherwise ordinary unless you pre-arrange for (and pay extra for) the excellent mangu de platanos, or mashed fried plantains- get w fried egg on top!... Me and a group of 5 others stayed in the apartment. The apartment is not located in the main hotel, but 3-4 blocks away. It is a clean and well maintained apartment with more than enough space to fit all 6 of us. 1 room slept 2 on a queen size bed and 1 slept 4 on two twins (one... More

We booked our room with Dona Elvira months in advanced and confirmed our reservation several times including when we left for the Dominican Republic, less than 10 days prior to our reserved arrival, and again once in the DR only two days from our planned stay at Dona Elvira. On all communications, via email, we were assured all is fine... More

Situated in the middle of zona colonial, the old town, in a building dating back several hundreds of years, tastefully renovated. The foyer hosts a small front desk in a corner and lounge area which seamless extends outdoor into the pool yard. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made me feel at home. The pool was emptied the... More

The comfort of home combined with historic charm - I loved it here. The staff are amazing and will help you with anything you may want / need. The breakfast is also great! We stayed in one of the rooms with the large bed in the loft and loved the room. It was some of the best sleeps we've had!... More
