We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Dona Elvira. As the pictures show it is a beautiful building that shows some of the charm of the colonial Dominican Republic. The rooms are not very big, but good enough for two people. It really forms a secure place in the busy city of Santo Domingo. The air conditioning works perfectly,... More

This restored old house has lovely arched doorways and a pleasant inner court yard with a small swimming pool. The breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs and ham, and good coffee was a welcome way to start the day. It is a short walk to El Conde, the main street of the Zona Colonial and close to the major points of... More

My wife and I stayed there for three nights following a business meeting I had in Santo Domingo. The location is very good; in the colonial zone, yet not just around El Conde, which makes it more quiet. An easy walk to everywhere. The hotel itself is rather charming. They have rebuilt old ruins to make a very nice looking... More

I love this hotel. My husband and I went for our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. Breakfast is great (ham and cheese eggs, toast w butter and jam, a fruit plate, and coffee). It's a very laid back and comfortable environment but very efficient. Staff is ultra friendly and helpful, there's always someone up front to open the door and... More

Stayed here for the 3rd time in about 4 years. The 1st time I loved everything about the hotel. This last time I was a bit disappointed. The location is great and I love the small courtyard and pool. But, although the city itself seems to improve each time we go, the hotel has not. The rooftop "terrace" is not... More

This lovely little "Bed & Breakfast" or Hotel is located right in the Center of the Zonal Colonial. All the sights in the Zonal Colonial are easily accesible on foot. I arrived on Dec. 25th and was greeted by the Haitian weekend manager, who fortunately also spoke French as my Spanish is very limited. I booked the Hotel Room online... More

Wonderful little hotel situated in a great location in the Zona Colonial. Our room was a step back in time with modern amenities.Open beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and ancient double doors leading to an outdoor shower area. The staff was very gracious and recommended great restaurants with in walking distance. This hotel was pet friendly which was important to... More

Beautiful building in the colonial style, and I think it probably was nice a few years ago after remodeling. That would be fine, except for a litany of negatives. -- Had to haggle about the price, after agreeing on one, they upped the price by 30 dollars. -- Air conditioner was BROKEN. They told me that they would fix it,... More

The staff was very helpful, polite and friendly. They were very patient with our minimal knowledge of Spanish and went above and beyond to help answer all of our questions. The location was fabulous - right in the heart of the Zona Colonial. The interior pool was truly an oasis in an urban environment! Normally we don't spend a lot... More
