First, let me say that the staff are all kind and very helpful. The lobby and the restaurant areas of the hotel are kept up, but it seems to stop there. The hallways and the rooms themselves are shabby and dated. I say this considering that in Boca Chica I paid considerably less and got a much better cared for... More

My experience with the Mercure Comercial was extremely mixed. I arrived at 1:30 am and was placed in a tiny room because I asked for Internet access. Unfortunately, I could only get the Internet, if I positioned myself in such a way as to be in front of the windows. The room was relatively noisy and the bed took up... More

Its good for the feel of the cultural aspect of the country monuments, souvenir shops and you can see how the Dominicans interact with each other ( I loved watching the late night Domino games in the middle of the street and hearing the old guys yelling and laughing- still got some sleep). The rooms are simple and clean- your... More

I have to say that the case of Hotel Mercure is a sad one. The hotel itself is clean, nice, good food, good service and generally good facilities. The problem is "El Conde" street, where it's located. At night, you need to be careful. Even though it's a highly touristic area, there's a lot of undesirables around. I believe that... More

If it was any worse, I would have walked out even if they didn't give me a refund. Lobby was fine but the hallways and rooms had a very sketchy feel to them. We had some shifty looking shirtless guys drinking in their room next to ours. Since they weren't being loud we didn't complain. Rooms were tiny. This is... More

This hotel is in the Zona Colonial district which is a nice, safe shopping area for tourists. There are a variety of restaurants nearby and you can easily walk to the Choco Museo, Cathedral, or Alcazar de Colon. Our bed was comfy and the room was clean. However, it was very noisy. We could hear the music from the dance... More

Issue #1: I checked in around 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. The front desk clerk (I will refer to him as Mr. Passive Aggressive) stated that the room they had reserved for me was given to someone else, and all he had left was a smoking-room. I knew I could not deal with this due to allergies, but I... More

This is the last of my 3-night stay at the Mercure and I am so sorry to leave! I like the hotel - very clean, great value for the price and an excellent location (close to restaurants and attractions). Yes, the rooms are small but you have all you need. I have a courtyard view so have not experienced any... More
