I stayed one night at this Marriott property. The taxes on the room amount to about 23%. The room was really in need of a remodel. Otherwise, it was clean. The taxis out front will charge 10 USD for even a 2 minute cab ride (all in the name of security supposedly). I asked the employees how they get home.... more

I have stayed in this hotel several times while traveling to Santo Domingo on business. The rooms in the tower are clean and comfortable. There are "garden" rooms in a separate 2 story building which is located on the property and you must walk to them. I have been told by other guests that the rooms are not furnished as... more

I was booked for two weeks but changed hotels after one night. I had a room in the outer wing, and while clean for the most part, the bathroom had plenty of mold. The room was very dated, from the furniture to the construction materials. I'm not sure it looked nice even when it first opened. We spent a bit... more

This hotel consists of two buildings: the Main Building and the Garden Building. There were a large number of people in my party, so I got to see several rooms in each building. The Main Building is new and has an impressive lobby, but the rooms are slightly shabby. The Garden Building, a hundred yards away, appears to be a... more

I have been staying at this hotel since 1991, and the service has gone down hill tremendously. The outside grounds are kept in very nice shape and the restaurant CHAMPS is very good and the people who work there are excellent. The rest of the hotel has turned into a DUMP. The hallway carpets are old and dingy, the rooms... more

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times before and it has been a pleasant experience each visit. The service here is better than more DR hotels and the food is decent too. Drink are a little expensive a Champs bar next to the casino. USD $13 for a vokda and carnberry. Pool is nice and away from the rest... more

I really don't understand all the negative reviews. After reading a few of them I felt compelled to share my experience. The front desk staff explained perfectly the difference between the tower and garden rooms-I chose the inexpensive garden room. I thought it was great. It did NOT smell and had ample room. It was a very comfortable bed, too.... more

The casino area... more
