I was on the organizing committee for a very large reunion held at the Jaragua. We chose the Jaragua because we needed a larger facility than where we have been previously. We wanted to be close to the Colonial Zone and other interesting features of the city. We were surprised that about 240 people registered, plus we had another 1-200... More

Overall it was a good stay. The hotel is old and a bit dated. Breakfast buffet was really great. Pool was nice. Hotel staff is a little slow and rude. More

Stayed here in April for a friend's birthday and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a bit dated and needs refreshing but in all was good value. We stayed in the Garden Wing across the way from the main tower. There are no amenities there although there are lounge areas on both levels where you can relax outside your room.... More

I will never stay in this Hotel again! The taxi drivers who work there are scam artist. they tried to charge me 900 pesos for a ride that cost me 300 pesos when i called a regular cab. The Hotel has terrible rules, stating that if you don't check a friend or girlfriend in at your arrival, that they aren't... More

I was in SD for a conference and had a good rate. The hotel is fairly dated and the room felt dingy. The casino was leaking and uninviting. The breakfast was and the staff was great. The gym/spa was creepy. I enjoyed walking to old town and along the ocean roadway. More

I had the opportunity to stay two days at this hotel recently. Almost everything was perfect, except my initial impression on check-in. I had booked online, sight unseen at the Marriott website. I have been a Marriott member for at least 20 years. I booked the garden view rooms, because I thought that meant not facing the Carribbean Sea just... More

I stayed here in April 2012 I loved the location. The hotel was not the best but I stayed because of the value. The service was ok and the food was basic but they gave the right exchange rate on my American money so that was a big plus in my book. The hotel has a casino so if you... More

Internet is an additional fee, to use the gym is an additional $6 per day. We booked our room which was spacious, clean, and well appointed at a great rate of $79 but to move into the main building was...an extra fee. Casino on site with live music. Pool is nice with cabanas to shade you from the sun. Hotel... More

I was first not impressed when I found out that my room was not in the main Hotel tower, without a view of the Caribbean see. The beds where very uncomfortable. I was then after asking upgraded to the main hotel to a quite nice room and bed. Breakfast was okay, but I found $13 for 1 day of internet... More
