This is the first hotel I lodged in upon my arrival in Santo Domingo. It has an incredible view on the Zona Colonial - eating breakfast there in the morning conveyed me a sense of peace and gave me energy to face long days of work. The personnel was beyond kind and generous - the two managers went out of... More

I stayed for about ten days in this hostal and it is just two blocks from the Calle Conde and in between the hostal and Conde there are several small restaurants worth popping in and trying. The rooftop of the hostal has wifi and a bar, and every morning there is fruit, coffee, fresh juice, toast and marmalade for guests.... More

It is located at the heart of everything. I loved the family they were very nice and good hosts. decent room, bathroom and shower worked fine. Beware of the area I was almost mugged the one night. They were two guys in there late teen that walked up to me to steal my travel bag, but thank God I was... More

I came to this hotel every time I had to spend a night in Santo Domingo, and I will go back. This is a family-owned hostel in the heart of the historic area (probably in the cutest street). It is small, simple, and functional. The breakfast is good. The owners (a dominican and french couple) are sweet and will go... More

We stayed there for two nights, and we felt like at home, the staff is very pleasing and decent, it's family owned so that's a plus. The rooms are good enough to spend a couple of days, it has a nice rooftop area where you can chill out and have some drinks, and everything is close. I definetly recommend this... More

We stayed at Hostal Nomadas for 2 nights, including New Years Eve and had a great experience. The rooms are basic, but we felt that we had everything we needed (working shower/sink/toilet/fridge/AC, decent beds, etc.). The breakfast (served on the roof) was simple and fresh (fruit, jam, toast, coffee), and it was a nice start to the morning. It is... More

We stayed here after arriving in the country before heading north. Building had some charm over all - nice rooftop terrace, kind and helpful management, cats lounging around the reception. Rooms themselves were barebones / not especially clean even by my (budget traveler) standards. Running water didn't work when we first arrived. They fixed it the next day, but it... More

The Hotel is at a very nice location just at the heart of Zona Colonial. It is close to every thing, 5 mins walk from El conde, calle las demas, Malecon (Beach). Night clubs, Restaurant, Super markets are 5 mins walk way. Rooms are Spacious & clean. The staff is really friendly, helping. It was difficult for me not knowing... More

Our experience - Room Dirty, mould in the bathroom, with cockroaches. On check out, no running water all. The manager did his best and fixed the problem but by the time it was fixed we had to check out. The linen was very old, basically we slept fully clothed. Air conditioner did not work, the ceiling fan kind of worked.... More

Highlights: Staff are very friendly and, as noted in previous posts, is well-situated near everything in the Zona colonial. The terrance on the top floor is fantastic and serves good Mediteranean food. Downsides: Rooms are adequate for sleeping. Air conditioners somewhat function, but the rooms are not too desirable. History: The building was renovated by the family owners 4 years... More
