Stayed at the Ft. Young for a conference. Due to late booking, I was limited to the Oceanfront Deluxe room. The room was definitely worth the little extra money it cost. Had a refrigerator and ADSL internet access (which the regular rooms apparently do not - some have wireless access, but some don't). Also had a great balcony overlooking the... more

This hotel is clean and great for Dominica standards, but very overpriced. If you compare to United States hotels it would be low.....but if you're familiar with Dominica, this place is great after checking out the island looking for a clean stay and screened windows with a shower indoors. The hotel was great, clean, some parts are older, others newer... more

We stayed in Fort Young as part of our Honeymoon in combination with St.Lucia. We loved the atmosphere, seaviews, and had a wonderfull candlelight dinner on the veranda. This the right hotel for your trip around the island. The rooms at the back are a little bit outdated but we advise you to book the rooms in the newer part... more

More to come on this... I was there for a meeting, and feel really lucky I got to visit the beautiful island of Dominica. The Fort Young hotel was really great. I liked the historic feel of it, and the staff was very nice. more

GET ONE OF THE OCEANVIEW ROOMS! The rooms are stunning: spa-quality upgrades in the bathroom, large rooms, UNBELIEVABLE private balcony with 12 hours of uninterrupted sun. Watch the sunset, sunbathe in the nude--it's just you, the ocean and the horizon! The food at the hotel is pretty good and the bar is a nice place to spend an evening enjoying... more

Just got back from 6 nights at Fort Young. Stayed there because I took my 23-year-old daughter and friends said to stay at Fort Young because it was in town and near the action. We went to Dominica to dive and hike the rain forest. If I had it to do again I would have stay at Castle Comfort in... more

Enjoyed our stay very much, as we were staying three nights we got an upgraded room looking out to see. The room was very comfortable and one of the best we stayed in. Cruise ships came in most days, they arrived in the morning and left in the evening and added to the hubbub of Roseau during the day. In... more

We spent three nights at the Fort young Hotel before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is convienient for exploring the town. Rooms are nice but avoid the ones just above the Ocean side dining room if they have a band. Abit noisy but nice rooms. The last two nights we upgraded to an Oceanside room which was absolutely incredible.... more

Our first trip to Dominica included a two night stay in the capital of Roseau at the Fort Young Hotel. The accommodations are nice and it is built into an old English fort. There is a newer addition that has rooms that are a little nicer, but the rooms in the older section are sufficient. With television and air conditioning... more

Possible it's not quite as nice in the old rooms further from the shore (see other reviews below), but life is great in the big waterfront rooms, and they don't cost very much more. The staff were friendly, outgoing and helpful, top to bottom. Their advice about restaurants and activities was good, and they all seemed genuinely concerned that we... more
