Junge Bay is challenging to drive to. The roads are narrow, bumpy, and people prone to motion sickness and back problems should prepare for the 1 hour and 40 minute ride or narrow, up and down side to side bumpy ride. the landscape is beautiful but opt for a SUV instead of van for back problems and take time to... more

We just returned from a week at Jungle Bay Resort and Spa in Dominicia. If you like a remote, ecologically-friendly, non-touristy type of getaway this is a place to seriously consider. If you like to be active i.e. going on adventure day hikes, snorkeling/kayaking, and swimming in hot springs within the Caribbean rainforest, these are the activities you can look... more

We arrived at Jungle Bay at dusk – my husband, 2 children ages 10 and 13 and my father-in-law. We were met in the reception area by the owner, Sam Raphael, and personally escorted to our cottages. Talk about personal service! We felt immediately at home. It is a fairly long but pleasant walk up the road from the main... more

Visiting Jungle Bay Lodge in Dominica was a great trip! Each day, I would ask my husband how many shades of green he saw on the hillside. The density and diversity of the vegetation was a visual treat. The mountains, descending to either cliffs with pounding waves or rocky beaches opened your senses to the natural beauty and the sounds... more

We have travelled to at least a dozen Caribbean Islands and stayed at some of the best hotels and resorts but Jungle Bay has won our hearts. They do an amazing job of combining luxury with the outdoors. We felt almost entirely outside during our stay but had the natural comforts of any highly rated hotel. The jungle cottages are... more

This is the most wonderful place on earth; a true tropical paradise. Exquisite scenery, surrounded by tropical birds, soothing sounds of crashing ocean waves, birds, tree frogs and a constant warm ocean breeze. The staff bends over backwards to please and is warm and welcoming. You need to love "living in nature" and peaceful surroundings. The food is very fresh,... more

We had an outstanding active, adventurous vacation at this beautiful eco-resort responsibly tucked into its natural surroundings, and staffed by friendly, competent local people. The Spa/Adventure package is the way to go - every day a choice of unique hikes or trips, massages and treatments, yoga, and tasty, well-prepared meals. Just the right amount of comforts - great bed, showers,... more

A phenomenal resort on one of the most beautiful islands we have visited in the Caribbean and Pacific! The treehouse exceeded our expectations! Luxuriously furnished for the island. Sparkling clean rooms, comfortable beds, thick towels. Peek-a-boo views of the crashing Atlantic ocean that lulled us to sleep each night. Showering outdoors was refreshing and calming with views of the surrounding... more

Make no mistake - getting around ths resort is physically challenging, and you should be in reasonably good shape if you don't want to be miserable. In addition to the large number of steps to get to most of the cabins (mine was 104), for many you also had to climb a steep hill before you even got to the... more
