booked dinner at mansion xanadu as a break from mundaneness of all inclusive resort food and to be honest it could be so much better. Arrived on time and were asked to sit in the lounge where we were left for what seemed like ages without much of a welcome and no offer of a drink (complimentary or oherwise). Eventually... More

I don't understand why anyone would consider this to be a place worthy of praise. It has been neglected to the point of being entirely unacceptable as an hotel. The paint was peeling off in great patches in the hallway. The taps in my bathroom were very difficult to switch off. The shower was substandard. There was cellophane on the... More

Went with friends to have dinner here. Food was the best that I'd had whilst in Cuba. Too many mossies though! Lobster salad was very good, veal medallions just melted in your mouth! All round a good place to eat, in a nice mansion with a interesting back story ( DuPont, Castro etc)

we heard such good things about this place, that even though we had an all inclusive hotel a few minuets away! We came here for just an hour, having a cocktail in the bar with the most amazing view of the sea - was beautiful The bar itself was beautiful too - really old fashioned. A great place to visit

After nine holes of golf we stumbled upon this place and booked in for dinner and drinks. We sat outside on the cliff and watched the sun set which was magical. Just before dinner we took the skinny staircase up to the top floor which lead to the best stocked bar in Varadero. Whilst the cocktails were less than impressive,... More

We stayed at this hotel at the end of a two week trip through Cuba. Until then we had stayed mostly at Casa Particulares so walking into this place was quite the eye opener. It used to be the mansion of an early 20th century magnate, built on a rocky precipice overlooking the rather stunning looking ocean. The interior is... More

First visited as part of a BVSC night out package (picked up from hotel in convertible classic car, brought to Xanadu for dinner, then on to a bar & then to BVSC concert). The Mansion itself is absolutely "WOW" & deserves a visit in itself. Staff were friendly & the 3 course meal was beautifully presented. I had the Lobster... More

Every time I go to Varadero, I take the time to visit this wonderful place. The wood work and marble work is amazing. Make sure to visit Ruban in the upstairs bar and enjoy one of the great drinks he can make.

Mar 19 Our TO felt that our group should stop here for mojitos and a bit of R&R before checking in to our hotel. This is a handsome estate; I think the locals call it the Dupont House. This mansion exudes quality and high-style. Upstairs is a open air but roofed room where we enjoyed the local hospitality. A sax... More
