This review may sound negative in parts, but overall i had a great time...i have stayed in many real 5 star hotels and travel alot...but i was going to cuba and managed my expectations...this hotel is 3 star by UK terms. but by all accounts one of the best hotels in varadero Resort: varadero Beautiful beaches...gorgeous sea...not much to do... more

me and my husband stayed at the tryp from june 19th until july 3rd read lots of reviews on trip advisor, we had our concerns but went with an open mind the resort is big but you can easily find your way around as it all leads back to where you started the grounds are well kept very well maintained... more

We stayed at Tryp from June 30 to July 7th but our experience began 6 weeks before we left home. Our family enjoys a beach vacation every year and traveling to the tropics with a son who has a few allergies is not as easy as you may think. Before we book a resort we always contact the resort to... more

After careful research, we decided that the Tryp Peninsula would be a good place to bring our 3 kids (6, 8, 11). It was a good choice. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The main paths were lined with a variety of palms trees while flowering bushes were just about everywhere else. The rooms were large and tastefully decorated. The beach... more

I've been in several places in the caribbean region, (Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica) and now Cuba. Cuba is definitely the worst destination of those mention above, a 5 stars hotel in cuba is maybe a 3/4 in Dominican Republic, this hotel in particularly is not good. The rooms are ok and and they are well cleaned, the gardens of the... more

1st time in Cuba and we loved it, stayed 19/6-03/6 travelling with First Choice / Thomson from Manchester. We arrived in Varadero on time and after sitting on the bus for about 25 minutes we got underway, fortunately everyone on the bus was going to the Tryp so it was route direct and got there in about 30 minutes, Mario... more

The weather was great, pool was great, beach was great. Kids had a blast! Long wait to check-in, but that seems to be the case with several resorts from reading some reviews! The resort is nice, but is beginning to age. Rooms were average and not super clean - saw plenty of bugs including cockroaches, especially in the bathroom. Sheets... more

Tryp Peninsula Varadero Cuba - back June 25th, 2009...miss beach, but happy to be home (Toronto, Canada). Hotel not so great... Read mixed reviews and took our chance that it couldn't be that bad. We have traveled many times to Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic and stayed at 4 - 5 star hotels. This is not a 4.5 star hotel... more

Travelled to the Tryp from May 31st to June 7th with a group of about 40 people for a wedding. The wedding was really nice, and basically went on without a hitch. The happy couple were very pleased. The grounds at Tryp at very vegetated and nice, however there is a lot of standing water and i think that this... more

Tryp Peninsula is a very beautiful hotel. It is very big, so I would not recommend it for older or disabled travelers, but for us (3 couples early 20-s) it was great. There is a lagoon, different bridges and paths. Lots of plants as well. We have actually enjoyed just walking to the beach, walking the bar, to dinner etc.... more
