We booked 2 rooms in Casa Nivia Melendez in January 2016. Even before our stay Beatriz was easy to contact via email and organised a taxi from the airport and ensured dinner would be ready that evening for our arrival. Their home is beautiful and rooms large, clean and have air con. The Casa is open and airy in the... More

Although we stayed at several casa's with nice and friendly people the casa Nivia Melendez with Beatrix in charge is certainly the most friendly of them all. We were sad we only stayed 1 night at Beatrix casa because we felt so at home. The food was delicious and the rooms clean but simple. We slept in the front room... More

The owner is really friendly, she wants you to have the best time and her English is pretty good. Her mother is always there for a friendly smile. The food here is great, you can eat in the patio. The patio looks lovely with many plants and animals.

We are a family of four, and we stayed for two nights with Beatriz and David in August. It would be hard to imagine nicer hosts. Starting with the friendliest of greetings, our stay with them was both interesting and enjoyable. The house itself is lovely, rooms are great, dinner was amazing, and the location is perfect for exploring Santiago.... More

We've just spend two nights at casa Nivia and it was everything really very good. We had room at first floor with a nice balcony, strongly suggested if you're three people. The land lady was always very nice. Don't miss the tropical breakfast ! Very near from downtown, location is very calm.

Casa Nivia is an old house with lots of character and charm. The family is very warm and welcoming and they made sure our stay was excellent in every way possible. The spacious bedroom upstairs with a view to the leafy, quiet inner patio was the perfect spot to stay in the middle of vibrant Santiago. We had delicious food... More

We stayed here for three nights in February this year. It's a lovely casa with very nice and friendly hosts, Beatriz and David. It's a family of three generations, including a parrot and a turtle. We had the upstairs room with a balcony facing the inner courtyard, which was very nice. The food was excellent - both breakfast and dinner... More

Agree with other reviews. Food is excellent, so don't bother to eat anywhere else and Beatriz really takes good care of visitors. Staying here was our best experience in two visits to Cuba and that's really saying something as Cuba tends to deliver experience! I have only been home 2 days and I want to be back there already. We... More

The house has a very nice patio that leaves out all the noise of the busy streets of Santiago. Our host, Beatriz (the daughter of Nivia) has been very warm and her kids have been playing with our daughters a lot. We have got the only room that is on the second level. There are some steep stairs to reach... More

Typical casa blended in with owners quarters. Good location with a short walk to the main downtown square. Beatriz is very accommodating and genuine. We were picked up at the Viazul station by a cab that brought us there in no time. We had our first lunch that day and a late dinner in the evening at the casa in... More
