This is a very pleasant, old hotel dating back to the early 1900's in the heart of the action in Santiago de Cuba. It sits on the main square, which has action literally all night long, so it can get a bit noisy. The food is decent and the breakfast offers quite a good selection of food and juices, including... Have to admit our visit to this hotel was brief. In fact it was part of a longer tour of the city of Santiago De Cuba. Located right in the heart of the city, Cuba's No 2 city and one with terrific character.Over looking a beautiful town square with lots of friendly Cuban locals some naturally seeking to sell you... Our group consisted of 13 friends and family from New Orleans, Louisiana. Our group went to Varadero, La Habana and Santiago from 1-20-16 to 1-30-16. Casa Granda was my favorite. We enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel and the friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention our housekeeper Melba and our buffet breakfast cook Emilio. They were exceptional and... More

Rooftop bar is a great place to view the city and get your bearings. The Terrace bar is also lovely to while away a few hours sipping Mojitos. The food is good and reasonably priced and it gets you away from the hawkers constantly trying to get you into restaurants. Wonderful place for watching all the activities going on in... More

Nice place to watch New Year's Eve festivities in the Parque Central. And New Year's Day relax on the room top and view the sea and the whole city. Delicious dinner there on the room top the same night!

Hotel Casa Granda is in a good location very near the cathedral and nice squares. Staff need lessons on treating and helping tourists first impressions of staff awful. Room is comfortable and a reasonable size , it has hot water!! Forgot that to get into the room we were about 2 hours early so had to pay a 5 CUC... More

Dear guest of us: thanks for your opinion, which we are strongly analyzing with our staff. That's why we need you to give us more details about your visit, to avoid a situation like that happens again. At Casa Granda Hotel, the Snack Bar in the first floor is at present working 24 hours, and the kitchen too, as an... More

Amazing views and a great spot to watch sunset on their rooftop terrace. The rooftop bar was closed for renovation when I was there, but you could still go upstairs (I did not stay at the hotel) and take in the views of Santiago. The open air restaurant was nice and great people watching across the way at Parque Cespedes.... More

Your opinion has been very friendly. We only have to add a single element: our new rooftop bar is already finished, though we are touching some others details up. Now it is bigger and allows to give a faster service. We do appreciate your return in a near future, it will be an honor to us. More

So the casa granda is a well know in Santiago, I was a little disappointed with our room it had a patch of damp on the wall brown and quite big and the windows were screwed shut but other than that it was clean and tidy, breakfasts were good but I did notice one or two cockroaches in the dining... We stopped at the hotel for our first drink in Cuba, and although it was a quick stop for some mojitos and sandwiches (which were delicious!), it was quite an experience! Our bartender's name was Walfrido and he made hands down the best mojito I had in 7 days in Cuba. Not only that, he delighted in teaching us how... More
