We had an excellent room on the forth floor overlooking the square. Good facilities and everything worked. Breakfast was unexciting but plenty of it and good choice. The roof top bar has great views although you do pay a CUC per drink extra for the privilege. We used the front bar overlooking the square which had good service and atmosphere.... More

We stayed in room #405. Pros: high ceilings, a California king, hot water, working ac, the panoramic 360 view from the 5th floor rooftop & according to my travel buddy "Law"- the rooftop cafe has the best mojitos in Santiago de Cuba! The omelette chef Emilio Donation & Idalyis (housekeeping) were the most pleasant staff persons with outstanding customer service.... More

This hotel is situated in the town square and boasts a 360 degree view from the rooftop patio ( where you van enjoy food and drinks as well ). The food is quite good, but the accommodations, although clean, are pretty much bare-bone. A very large bar adjacent to the lobby overlooks the square which is a never ending parade... More

Had a great experience at the hotel. The rooms were great and the hotel has that historical feel. The view from the room of the plaza is great in the mornings with musicians there almost everyday. Service was excellent as well. Only bad thing that I could say about the hotel is the way beggars and taxi drivers hang out... More

I have stayed at the hotel Casa Granda twice in the last year each time for week and both times it smelled like sewage, badly. The second time we did not have water two days, like water to shower with. Need I say more.

The building is just beautiful. The lobby coffee shop has excellent food but somewhat slow service. The serve cartons of ice cream which are wonderful. The front desk staff are incredibly accommodating. The rooftop bar is excellent and provides superb views of the plaza, cathedral and sunsets.

Perhaps the best choice in Santiago de Cuba if you prefer old charm, central location and music. If you need a swimming pool and wifi, maybe Melia is better your choice. There's only one computer connected to internet in this hotel and the connections are not always working. Rooms are basic but clean and you don't have to worry about... More

By operators I mean lots of prostitutes of various sexes, scam artists, and all others looking to make a CUC or two from the vast herds of tourist prey. Harassment on the actual terrace is minimal but lots of transactions take place in full view. Sometimes the operators seem to outnumber the tourists. I can only assume management is fine... More

the service at Casa Granda in Santiago de Cuba is very poor. servers on the top deck are very slow to acknowledge upon arrival and even slower serving. they can only take one order at a time. we found 2 waiters, 1 in the breakfast area and one in the lunch/lounge area that were very good at their job too... Overall, this middle range hotel, well located for easy access to Santiago's central cultural attractions, was better than expected! hotel, . The most memorable feature of the week we recently spent there was the helpful and courteous service by hotel staff. We had no problem in changing our room (on second floor, facing the Cespedes Square) after the first night... More
