Casa Granda is a nice hotel with excellent location. It is in the center of Santiago de Cuba with short distances to main attractions. The lively Parque Cespedes is just under the terrace, which has nice view. Trova, the tradional place for music is just 50 metres away. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The service was again excellent,... More

For a short visit to Santiago this hotel is ideal. It couldn't be in a better location. The verandah at the front of the hotel is raised up from the square and has the feel of a cruise liner tied up to an exotic jetty. Touts cruise below, waiting for tourists to disembark. Drinks and snacks are good value. At... More

I stayed at the Casa Granda in Santiago de Cuba recently. The rooms were fine but very worn. It is a shame that great old buildings are not being maintained by the government. The condition was much like you'd expect anywhere outside of Havana. The electricity worked mostly as did the hot water. The hotel leaked in the common areas... More

If you like to be in the centre of the action and can sleep regardless of outside noise then there is no better place to stay in Santiago. Fantastic location overlooking the lively and noisy square. Suggest you party with locals into the wee small hours before you go to bed. As a hotel we found it ok. Good breakfast... More

The worst place I ever stayed!! Rude, unfriendly, uncaring staff. Lock up your belongings or anything of value will be gone. The cleaning staff have access to your room safe (2 CUC/day) with their room key. Food was uncooked, uneatable and smelled rotten. Elevator doesn't work all the time. The music from the square on the street was very noisy... More

Plumbing issues but a great location. You're in a hotel made classic by Graham Greene's "Our Man in Havana" and you're just a few steps away from the local Casa de Trova, where you can hear amazing music about 14 hours a day.

The front of house features of this hotel seem quite good. There is an attractive terrace bar overlooking a square, the restaurant looks nice and offered an uninspired breakfast (but that seems normal for Cuba), the lift works. If you leave the Hotel you are pounced on by Jiniteros. The problems we had were the unfriendly reception and the appalling... More

Grand, old hotel, centrally located close to P Cespedes and Casa de la Trova and other music venues. Lively spot the whole day, ok rooms in need of some upgrading, lovely glass doors and lamps in the breakfast room, but breakfasts are better in a casa particular. Fabulous view from the roof terrace, but the cafe on the groundfloor terrace... More
