The view from the large delapidated room was nice, could not really close the windows so sleeping was kind of complicated with all the noise, bathroom fawcetts did not function, personnel rater unkind and slow. But the view from the terrace on top of the hotel was interesting.

Like much of Cuba, there is so much potential, but this once grand hotel seems to be lacking something. Don't get me wrong, the location of this hotel is fantastic and the views from the rooftop are amazing, and even the nightly entertainment also on the rooftop was fun. However, the rooms and bathrooms are very dirty. You could tell... More

I went to Cuba to experience the rich, vibrant culture of the country- especially in Santiago. There is no better place do this than to be based at the Casa Granda. It's atmospheric terrace overlooks the main square where you can sip a mojito or enjoy their fabulous breakfast while watching all the action below. View from the rooftop exceptional.... More

I loved this hotel. All the tourist sights were within close reach. The hotel has lovely old furnishings, but bathroom was new and spacious. The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection in a big open room. The trova house and salsa classes were seconds away. There were a multitude of great paladars for eating only minutes away. Many nightclubs close... More

Don't deserve four stars, light was not working in the room fixed going off again and again finally moved to a another room same problem I found out culprit was the air conditioner waited there and got it fixed, service was poor, excellent location, clean, spend most of my time on roof top, lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood.

This used to be a nice hotel..40 years ago. Our room was facing the square where parties going on till 5 am. Also the hotel has every Friday, Saturday and Sunday a cabaret show on the roof terrace. Normally till 1am, but there was loud music till 4 am the second day of our stay. When we addressed this to... More

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of June 2014. The hotel is located right in the center of town, however, the rooms are terrible! Our room was dirty and dusty and we even had mold in the bathroom. Our bedsheets were dirty too. We would never stay here again! Breakfast is terrible and the only... More

Stayed with my wife during a visit to Santiago de Cuba. Rooms were basic but comfortable the hotel has a great central location and a good terrace bar I'd suggest not paying to visit the roof bar terrace if all you want is a drink as the service and mojitos are better in the lobby bar which also overlooks the... It seems that it is one of the nicest - if not the nicest hotel in town. Right where the action is, the nicest tourist spots, etc. Hotel itself has a nice external architecture, but the interior, including the rooms, is not super. 2 or 3-star level. Plus salsa music all night long, no matter which room you choose. The... More

I have been to this hotel several times, but until this year only to have a drink in the rooftop bar and restaurant. The view from here is fantastic. A panoramic view of the city and a spectacular view of the angels on the cathedral next door. This year we spent 4 days at this hotel. The room was fairly... More
