I can do cheap accomodation, but I can't do dirty. There is SO much potential to be such a grand place, but it is far from it now. Everything from cleanliness to food was very poor. No water, a bottle of wine to say sorry, but we didn't even want to stay, we were ment to be there 2 nights,... More

Rambling hotel next to the railway station. Room was fine with good a/c. Breakfast average. No hot water, but given a bottle of wine as compensation! Had room at the back of hotel. Awful outlook but quiet. Avoid front rooms unless you like trains and early alarm call from first trains.

Stayed here for one night as part of our Explore group holiday. Rooms were basic, furnishings were past their best but otherwise functional. Pleasant reception and bar area downstairs. Served a nice welcome cocktail on arrival containing crème de menthe. Buffet breakfast in the morning. The hotel is located opposite the railway station so took the opportunity to get some... More

Stayed two nights on a group tour. Dismal staircase to rooms. Enormous room, big fridge, ancient desk and typewriter! Clean bathroom, hot water. Comfortable, clean big bed. Across from old railway station platform but no disturbance. Short walk down town along recently pedestrianised street (Republica) with lots of shops and eating places. Good buffet breakfast in small breakfast room.

One of the worst hotels ever. I can't package the message any better. The hotel is located next to the railroad station in a slightly beat down area of beautiful Camaguey. The rooms are bad, just bad. The two beds in my room were almost falling apart together with the rest of the odd furniture. Turing on the air-conditioning meant... More

We also stayed here for two nights with a holiday group. After carrying our cases up the stairs we found the room to be very dingy to say the least with broken cupboards, airless despite noisy air-conditioning and considerable street and train noises right outside. In fact I am sure we were in the same room as shown in the... More

We were booked in here for a two night stay with a group. The lift didn't work and looked as though it hadn't for some years. We had to lug our suitcases up a narrow stairs with filthy walls. The window in the room overlooked the lobby with all the noise of the bar etc. As other reviewers have pointed... More

My e-mail to the hotel came back undelivered, and I could not phone ahead, so we showed up and hoped for the best, knowing it is a 67-room hotel. The website suggests it is affiliated with Hostelling International, but there is no indication or sense of that on location – this is just an aging hotel. For the first night... More

The furniture in the room was worn out. The AC was broken. You can hear every noise from the street including the trains running just outside. There was no sprinkler in the shower. No hot water. It was quite clean though including the sheets.

If you are a single traveler. Will it be cheaper to live in this hotel, than a Casa Particular. Since the price is from 19 to 20 CUC a night., including breakfast. Think it is over 30 cuc for a couple. This is a old hotel , but big rooms and even if you travel alone will you get a... More
