Our group voted this the hotel we would least like to come back to. Our room was so small, you couldn't open the door fully - the bed (or rather, one of the twin beds) got in the way. The bathroom floor was awash before we even turned a tap on. The airconditioning was one of those ancient, in-the-window units... More

On a 2 week tour of Cuba we stayed in 6 hotels from glass fronted tower blocks to inclusive beach resorts. Nowhere did we receive a welcome as warm as at the Hotel Colon. The entrance lobby has charm, the restaurant and inner courtyard are delightful. The staff are keen to please and the drinks are reasonably priced. The one... More

The first room we were given had a mini flood on the floor. The second room had a very old, noisy air conditioning unit. There is barely enough space inside the room for two people to pass each other safely.

By far the worst hotel that we stayed in during our time in Cuba. The only good point is that it is centrally situated, but this means that there is no parking and cases have to be dragged through the streets. The inside of the hotel reminded me of the old TV programme 'Porridge' starring Ronnie Barker as the galleried... More

I was with a group of friends, and some hated it. I loved the old Colonial building, the delightful staff, the garden aria , and the street outside, which has benches for people watching. The rooms are tiny, (because they have had the bathrooms added later), but everything worked, the Air, the TV, hot water. The food was OK and... More

Upon arrival my impression of this hotel was good, but after entering my room (213) it went downhill fast. The so called double bedroom was the smallest hotel room i have ever stayed in.The room just had enough space for two single beds with a gangway in the middle. The room did not have a window, but came with noisy a/c which you could... An older style colonial hotel built around an interior terrace. Sounds idyllic, but the reality is a dirty, badly maintained building where nothing works. I had the misfortune to spend a stifling in tiny cell like room. Neither the air conditioning nor the shower worked, but worst of all my door did not lock.

The public spaces in this hotel are very modern, but there is no noise control, so everything filters up into the very small rooms meaning noise at all times. Breakfast was very sparse, but I htink it was jsut what food they had, so not complaining. We left out ipad in the room, and getting it back was a very... More

this was a great hotel wirth friendly staff. Just male site you get one of the refurbished rooms as they are much bigger and nicer. There is a cute little courtyard for having an end of the day cocktail. recommended.

As this hotel is 2* was not expecting much but what a surprise! Olde world charm with buckets of charisma. My room was on the ground floor and surprisingly large with an adequate bathroom. Having travelled and stayed in previous hotels, I really relaxed in the Colon. Dinner was good as was breakfast the next day. Keep up the good... More
