this was a great hotel wirth friendly staff. Just male site you get one of the refurbished rooms as they are much bigger and nicer. There is a cute little courtyard for having an end of the day cocktail. recommended.

As this hotel is 2* was not expecting much but what a surprise! Olde world charm with buckets of charisma. My room was on the ground floor and surprisingly large with an adequate bathroom. Having travelled and stayed in previous hotels, I really relaxed in the Colon. Dinner was good as was breakfast the next day. Keep up the good... More

A lovely restored Spanish Colonial building in the heart of Camaguey. The rooms are on the small side although yhe high ceilings give an impression of space, Facilities FAIRLY are basic. However the hotel overflows with charm and atmosphere. The food was quite good , the staff friendly and helpful. The Colon is adding new rooms by expanding into the... More

We arrived one evening in Camaguey without arranging a casa particular, nor a hotel, so we asked on the street for a referral and ended up at the Hotel Colon. Located on the main walking boulevard, this nearly 100 year old hotel has classic Cuban architecture, seemingly frozen in time. Not knowing a little tip in advance, we simply walked... More

Rolled the dice and booked the Hotel Colon before going to Camaguey city. The hotel is in a fairly good area on calle Republica about a 5 minute walk to the more central part of the city. A few restaurants, bars and many shops are around there and the street it is on is "Pedestrian Only". This is an old... More

The reception area is very pleasant and we were given welcome drinks. There is a pretty, open to the sky, courtyard around which the bar and restaurant are situated. Although there was some building work going on within the corridor to our room it was not intrusive. So far so good. Unfortunately we then stepped into our room and any... More

We only had to stay here for 1 night and my review takes that IMO account as well as other experiences in Cuba. The room we we're put into originally had 2 single beds and as a newly married couple, this didn't seem right. After a quick conversation with the front desk, we were kindly moved without question. The rooms... More

This historic hotel has a beautiful lobby & courtyard. Our group was greeted with hot washclothes and a rum & coke. But then when you got to your room - 2 twin beds and a narrow path to the bathroom. The bedspreads seemed like they hadn't been washed in years. A/C very noisy, but the room had a mini refrigerator.... More

I must say I have never stayed in this Hotel. I know some of the staff there and they are very nice. As other people have said it is lovely at the entrance and reception. The back portion (courtyard) where you can have your meal and can watch football on television is really nice. As far as the rooms are... More
