Me and my friend came to Havana without any ideas of what will come upon us. A taxi took us to the home of Nelson and Aurora and we got the best welcome you can imagine. Beside their great hopitality, Nelson and Aurora are like a small travel agancy. They have connections all over the country and they will give you good advices and help with your stay on Cuba. In their home you feel like a member of the family. We spend a couple of nights together with Nelson, Aurora, their sons, their friends and other tourists drinking the best Piña Coladas ever and had a good lough all together. I highly recommand everyone to start your stay on Cuba with Nelson and Aurora! Godd luck! more

My partner and I stayed in the Casa Particular run by Nelson and Aurora (NeYAu) for 3 nights at the end of 2005, and it was overall the best Casa Particular we experienced during out trip.
Our experiences were:
*Our room was large and rather charming (most in Cuba are NOT). It had an ensuite which was also larger than most others we experienced. They had another room which I believe was smaller and more suited to single travellers.
*Our hosts, Nelson, Aurora and their two sons (late teens/young adults) were very helpful. Nelson in particular was happy to offer advice for our trip and his English is good.
*They were very well organised and even had a bound menu for breakfasts and dinners. The meals were good with plenty of variety.
*Their apartment was in the quiet but gracious neighbourhood of Vedado. Most of the buidlings in this area are Art Deco style and well preserved compared to other parts of Havana.
