The Hotel Saratoga is located across the street from The Capitolio, the Cuban capitol building. It is a vintage hotel recently thoroughly modernized. The rooms are lovely and immaculate. The rooftop pool and deck give you a 360 degree view of Havana. The dining room (breakfast is included with your room) is bright and the breakfast buffet overflowing with fresh... More

We stayed at the Saratoga as had problems with our original booking at another Havana hotel. We ended up staying for 9 nights. We were impressed by the friendly staff, spacious rooms and fantastic views from the roof terrace. The hotel is beautifully air-conditioned, a great relief to come in from the heat. Our room was facing the inner courtyard... More

We visited Havana with some cigar afacionados and the Saratoga was supposed to be the best hotel in Havana. By European standards it was a 3 star hotel but then again in Havana one cannot and should not expect much. We had a junior suite overlooking the Capitol and the room was ok. Breakfast was really bad as was the... More

Saratoga is a BEAUTIFUL hotel, super well located near the Capitol and city center. Junior suites are stunning, bars and restaurants equally so. However, upon arrival we wanted to take a quick shower and found hair everywhere in the shower + blood stains on the toilet seat and on the sink. Our bathrobe was dirty with makeup stains all over... Attentive staff, nice, quiet rooms, secure, comfortable beds, details are important to the staff. Friends had a room that at first had no hot water and the drain ran slowly. Next day it was all repaired. The amenities - shampoo, lotion bottles are large enough to use for many days. Breakfast buffet was good, somewhat more oriented to European tastes,... More

After carefully researching the hotels in Old Havana we selected the Hotel Saratoga which was the correct choice. A bit expensive but well worth it for our first stay in Havana. The reviews are correct in that is a five-ish star hotel with excellent service. The rooms are nice but not fancy but the a/c works well and the bathrooms... More

NOTE: This is their restaurant review. While searching for a place to dine for dinner, we walked up and down the Old Havana near the Capitolio. The restaurants either have a "packaged deal" (5 course meal) that includes alcohol or they do not open until 7 pm. Saratoga's restaurant is open 24 hours. So we dined there around 5. Our... More

To summarise the positives: large room, beautifully styled. Common facilities at face value very stylish and opulent. It has reasonably fast internet, a/c throughout and the view from the roof at sunset is unmissable (even if you're not staying). However: the place lacks any sort of atmosphere, welcome or service befitting the large - by Cuban or European standards -... More

The Saratoga offered us everything we wanted for our week in Havana. Very convenient, clean, big room, extra large bath, good variety of breakfast choices, and friendly helpful staff. From the other choices of hotels we saw in Havana we felt we had made the correct reservation. The hotel was very helpful in getting cars for us and making reservations... More

This is a pretty authentic hotel and by Cuba standards is quite luxurious - indeed the room was large and beautifully decorated with gorgeous tiled floors, however there was a smell in the room that never went away. The pool on the rooftop is amazing! No complaints. H
