We spent a night at this hotel in Feb/15. on an overnight excursion from Varadero. This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. We had mold inside the curtains, a shower that was filthy and only worked sometimes, the plugs were hanging out of the walls, the elevator was broken and the stairwells were filthy. The best was the... We were put in this hotel when we attended an overnight trip to Havana from our resort in Veradero. We were told that we would be staying at one of four really nice hotels. We are not sure what "really nice" means but it sure wasn't here. We were put into a room on the pool side of the building,... More

Hotel is fine, clean and big enough. I went for a congress with my companion, we booked through the suggested travel agency a doble room, and they simple charges us like the single prices all X2. However when we arrived to the hotel we saw the price for the doble room for 2 persons was only about 20% more than... More

Definitely a 1950's experience in the decor.....with some rough edges, but none not expected for Havana and the price paid. The pool was clean and large. room adequate in size although could not get out onto the balcony to fully appreciate the weather and view or where all the noise below was coming from. With window open, it was very... More

So we have a reservation for 2 rooms at this hotel and arrive at night after a long and exhausting trip. And guess what... There are no rooms available. They did admit that they screwed, which was pretty clear, because we had exchanged a couple of emails 2-3 days before to confirm the reservation. The whole time they were very... More

If you are backpacking w/ your guy friends this is fine. Hotel is very runned down, not well kept, pool was deactivated when I was there and there was nothing really charming and no one really nice. Bfest also poor and horrible coffee (that's a problem for me). Also wifi didn't work. But it was cheap if you're saving money... More

You can tell from the outside that this was once a 5 Star Luxury Hotel and was the place Fidel Castro walked in when he celebrated his victory. The only problem not much has happened since but is a a good place for the price paid. The breakfast buffet was great but they were short of cups, cereal bowls and... More

I was shocked not to find a kettle in our room. My next shock was a lack of hot water. Otherwise all was ok. The room on the 5th floor 525 was very dusty. The TV had no reception and it had a musty smell. I suspect this room had not been used for about 50 years. We had to... More

Take a look at the complimentary breakfast food photos and try to get your head around what guest expectations were at $50 +/- a night. Like are these people patrons of the Waldorf Astoria or the Four Seasons chain? The location? One of the most secure in Havana. Check in was fast and efficient. The elevators worked. The Wi-Fi worked.... More

Just down the street from Hotel Nacionale where I usually stay but was unable to book :(( There are things that need to be worked on The music racket in the lobby is incessant. Far too many staff loitering about the lobby. The bathroom water could be warmer. Now the positive? The elevators worked and were pretty fast. It cost... More
