Broken lifts. Broken steps on stairs. Bin bags on stairs. No lights on stairs. Likely to at some point be a body on stairs. No glass in windows. Cockroach in toilet. Hairball in bed. Stain on sheets. A load of sheet.

Hotel Vedado is located in downtown Havana a few blocks from the Malecon. While the location is very good, it seems to cater to university groups (of which we were one). I ended up staying in three different rooms as we checked out and then checked back in two days later. The rooms are outdated. The mold in the bathroom... More

Stayed here for two and a half weeks. Not the best hotel, but given the condition of most buildings in Havana it was fine. Several people I was travelling with had to move rooms due to bugs, but I didn't have any problems. The lobby is sometimes too loud at night, you can't just sit and have a conversation. The... More

I had read some of the reviews here at TripAdvisor and on Yelp. I thought the hotel was fine, very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I believe, if the reviews were from Americans, that they should remember that they were visiting a developing country, not an American resort.

Hotel Vedado exceeded my expectations based on most reviews here. I wasn't expecting a luxury hotel for such a moderate price. We were very lucky to have a working air conditioner in a heat wave in May! Not all of our group members were as lucky. Room reports were mixed. One had torn curtains that had to be pinned together... More

I have read negative reviews. People who expect the Four Seasons? They should pay Four Seasons rates and stay in NYC. The Hotel Vedado cost here? Slightly more than a coffee and muffin by room service by any hotel in North America or Europe. Location, location, location. You are a five minute walk to either the Malecon, Hotel Nacionale, Hotel... More

Book an overnite stay in Havana through Thomas Cook rep in varadero. We were excited to see and stay in havana. However, when we arrived at this hotel my heart sank! We were told that it was basic and that was ok, but we werent told that we'd be staying in a hovel!! The lift was dirty, with the numbers scratchf... More

Stayed here as part of an overnight excursion booked via Thomas Cook rep at Royalton Hiscacos hotel Varadero (good hotel) . We arrived as party of 30 people no one wanted to leave the bus to even enter the hotel it looked filthy from outside, After enquiring about staying elsewhere our hand was forced as most hotels nearby were fully... We booked this hotel because we did not want to stay in the actual hotel. Being in Cuba for the first time we wanted to be out and about. If thats what you are looking for this hotel is ok for you. Prices are decent for what you get. Hotel is run down and breakfast is not the best but... More
