We made a reservation for Casa Vieja true an agency for 4 nights, but when we arrived there, we had to wait for 15 minutes outside, till somebody opened the door. They made us wait another 15 minutes inside, until Karen arrived and told us the reservation was lost, and there was no room available for us for that night.... More

This casa is a lovely place in Havana Vieja. We stayed here for 3 nights and really liked our stay. Karen and the staff are very nice. Breakfast and dinner were great. Please note that the downstairs room don't have their private bathroom but share one. Upon arrival our reservation was lost but luckily there was a room available for... More

My partner and I stayed here twice on our trip to Cuba and it was great. Wonderful room with extra points for the big comfy bed and the best pillows in Cuba. The room opened onto a fabulous roof terrace which was a great place to relax in the middle of the hectic city. Fantastic location right next to Plaza... More

We wanted to base ourselves in Havana the second visit to Cuba and just wander around the city. We picked the 1840 and it turned out to be an inspired choice. Karen and the others who work there are lovely. The two balcony rooms have air con and a simple, but pleasant decor. Sitting on the balcony in the evening... More

I stayed here in May as a solo traveller and felt very safe. The location in central Havana was perfect for walking the local area with easy access to the main sites, near Plaza Vieja. I had a lovely upstairs terrace room with ensuite simply decorated in local style. Great views from balcony down street to Capitol building at end.... More

This place is absolutely awesome. So close to all you want to see in Old Havana. Karen is the perfect hostess and is available to answer questions and gently guide you. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with views from Plaza Vieja (about 30m away) to the Capitol Building. The downstairs rooms give you a really authentic Havana experience as... More

Great spot right next to Plaza Vieja. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfy beds (we stayed there x2 and in different rooms) - great breakfast. They speak good English!! No sign on the front which confused us. Just ring the bell on the blue door Calle Teniente Rey 110. Also lower down the same street is called 'Brazil' and turn... More

We spent 4 nights here in March using the casa as a base to explore the wider Havana area and absolutely loved it. Great room on the top floor (we were downstairs in an equally impressive room the first night) and the roof terrace is a really nice bonus. Huge breakfast which sets you up for the day, and the... We stayed for a couple days in January 2014 and were very impressed by this place. It is a few rooms in antique but well-refreshed house situated in a very center of Old Havana area just two steps to Plaza Vieja. Every room contains its own bath-room so you can call it a family hotel (with more than reasonable price).... More
