Dear guide book, My girlfriend and I traveled to Cuba for a month now. We went to a casa particular that we read about in the site couchsurfing.org (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/carmen-castillo) and where we can see good references. The couple who run this casa is really very nice, they are Carmen and Roli and you really feel very comfortable with them. They... More

Excellent place to stay. The house is 100 meter walk to Malecon and Salsa Club 1830. Room very clean: every day new sheets, towels, soap etc. The staff teaches salsa to guests, I had a possibility for private salsa lesson every day. I higly recommend this casa.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our stay in Cuba and Carmen looked after us very well. We arrived late evening both times but this was no problem. The room was perfectly clean and breakfast was very tasty. The only disadvantage was the location as it is a long way from the centre of the old town,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and Carmen looked after us very well. Our room was clean and we had hot water in our bathroom. We only had breakfast there plus a snack in the evening that we arrived, but the food was great. Carmen doesn't speak English (and we didn't speak Spanish) but that didn't stop us from having... we stayed here for 2 nights! our spanish is not very good but it was no problem understanding each other somehow! they helped us with everything- organizing our pick up, taxis, explaining us the way...just about everything you need without being brash. the rooms have a good size. they even have a private bathroom and a fridge (which is more... You get a very warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. Their english is limited but you can get by with only limited Spanish, which is all part of the fun when you are abroad. The whole Casa was very clean and our room was prepared on a daily basis. The food in Cuban restaurants is hit... More

Staying at Carmen's was truly great. The attention superb, worries-free with lots of helpful info. The 4-circles rank is due to the somewhat challenging aspect of location; not far from anywhere yet a taxi would always be required to go into town or Miramar. We experienced 2 rooms, both great yet with no light at one of them. Highly recommended... More

Staying at Casa de Carmen was absolutely great. Especially Carmen herself took a lot lot of care for us being extraordinarily friendly and caring. She spent a great deal of time helping us to sort out any situation either when we we were trying to figure out where to go or even organising transoprt services. We had a wonderful timer... More

I am very glad that we had a chance to stay Casa de Carmen at Habana. It was an excellent home to stay. Carmen was like a real mother , very nice and very helpful. Home was safe and very clean. Other workers were also very nice and hardworking. All dinners, we ate there were very delicious.

Carmen and the other girls are perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful, they provided us with everything what we needed (also for our kids). The rooms are clean and there is air condition. The house is cozy, there is a beautiful patio where it's possible to have breakfast and dinner (the lobster is fantastic). The casa is located in Vedado,... More
