Our travel agent booked this hotel for us as apart of as welcome to Havana package and what we got was anything but! The staff at the front desk were rude and the rooms were filthy. We were not expecting a palace by any means, I have backpacked all around the world and stayed in some very budget hostels but... More

I've been to Havana 4 times and decided to give it a try . First the front desk people are miserable and will not help you with anything. They told me none of the safes in any of the rooms work , which I thought was weird . How could none of the safes work . The towels stink ,... More

This is our 6th stay at the Islazul in Havana. I have also stayed at this hotel as a single traveler. The lobby doors are locked at night which makes me feel very safe and secure. You just need to knock on the door for the desk clerk to open up for you (depending on what time of the night... More

This is a very modest place to stay if you want to enjoy the sights and not stay in your room. Accommodation is adequate, 2 beds, TV, private washroom and A/C. Daily breakfast, eggs, toast, jam, butter, juice, fruit plate of pineapple & papaya (seasonal), coffee with or without milk. Was a great way to start the day. Locals not... More

It is not an outstanding hotel, just very average, rooms are small, beds are ok but pillows are very thin, breakfast is free but you will only get scrambled egg and piece of toast with small amount of butter, however, location is excellent, just a few blocks from the Parke Central and Malecom. It's in front of the main road... More

This is a budget hotel and we got what we expected meaning we were not disappointed because of unrealistic expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean. There were no outside windows in the room, which actually helped to keep the noise and pollution out, but if you're used to waking up when it starts to get... More

Friendly service but "shabby" doesn't begin to describe this run-down, noisy place in a busy street; however it was clean. This is a place for impecunious students, young people with a limited budget and no need to sleep, as the cheerful singing and laughter deep into the night indicated. Needing to be in Havana at that time, we had had... More

I just returned from a one week stay at this hotel. I'm a solo traveler and booked through Sunwing Vacations. The hotel has been operating since 1953 and looks that way. I had a room toward the back of the hotel without a window allowing a view outside. Although it was a little inconvenient not knowing whether the sun was... More

clueless and grumpy service at breakfast - if you do not speak Spanish then do not bother, no windows in the rooms, and lots of noise up through the atrium, from all the staff shouting at each other (as Cubans do) from about 7am onwards. Good location on the Prado and the receptionists were lovely. Sinple, tired decor - what... More

Was there for 4 night. Yes, the hotel is run down, with a weird smell (at least in my room), yes the breakfast is one egg, toast and coffee BUT it is in in the center of Havana, great location and cheap, four night cost me $85 (in total). Since I am visiting a place, Havana in this case, I... More
