Stayed here for 3 nights on Thomas Cook tour. Poor first impressions with filthy carpets in the corridors especially in the area round the lifts. Found the room air conditioning leaking on arrival, but this was rectified speedily. Otherwise we were fairly fortunate with the room, which overlooked the city. Today, one can see a glimmer of the elegant past, but one can also see a lot of neglect and a desperate need for maintenance and repair. If you get a good deal it's fine. A bit out the centre, large and impersonal, but there was nothing to complain about (apart from the nailed closed room windows). Rate the rooms at 1*, the hotel at 2*. Some good music in the bar lounge area in the evenings. more
