the Cafe du Louvre on the ground floor is a reasonably good place, with a marked and priced menu (crucial), which included chorizo sandwiches for 4 pesos and red wine at 3, all very reasonable for a central Havana tourist location; we sat there for a while just watching people and listening to live band playing the first time we... Historic and interesting place to stay. This is an older hotel with some charm. Our rooms had balconies facing the square and along the side close to the National Theatre being renovated. The room numbers are in the teens beginning at X11 - X being the floor. There are only three floors of rooms and a nice rooftop lounge and... More

The best base in Havana. A most helpful staff. An elastic regime. Good rooms with all the comforts. Ignore the food, and get out into the city and wander. I will return and be happy to stay here...... Not for the precious! Happy days!

If you compare the price of this hotel to others around the Park Central Square then that should set a reasonable expectation. It is in not a luxury hotel. It is a beautiful old building, with an air of faded glory. Our standard room very was spacious. The daily housekeeping is not brilliant but the rooms are kept reasonably clean,... More

having read about accommodation in Cuba we were not surprised that the term 4 star had been loosely applied. Having said that, the bed was comfortable, the showers worked and breakfast was quite substantial. It is the oldest hotel in Havana and history oozed from its pores. Wonderfully preserved - furniture, decor, moorish tiles, candelabras. The bedrooms were tired and not... More

Bluntly put: it seems like the hotel has been grand at some other time, but definitely not now. The building is quite beautiful, but the rooms can be small, there is no water pressure in the shower, and the first room we got smelled like cat piss. Some of the staff is friendly, but half of it is definitely not,... More

This could be a wonderful place, but without refurbishment the rooms, in particular the bathrooms are a disgrace. The housekeeping staff are fighting a losing battle - at least their towel animals show a sense of humour, and their personal notes on bits of paper give some sense of feeling for the guests, but the rest of the place seems... The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right across Parque Central (Central Park) and in the middle of historic Old Havana. But sadly this is where the positives of the hotels stop. We arrived early in the morning and were given a two double bed room though we were a couple. The person checking us in did not... More

Was here together with my wife for 8 days. Just a great an historic place. Nice staff. Good food. Hope I will be back. Lot of spot to visit. Friendly people. If You look for something special this is something to do. And if You want to join a touristtrip it is possible from the hotel.
