This is a grand old hotel with lots of historic charm and a lively vibe. The location is great too, being right in the heart of central Havana. But the room was a bit of a let down. It was old and stale and dark and stuffy. The windows didn't open, they didn't have a view either and the bathroom... More

We stayed for three nights in November and it really is in a fantastic location to explore. There is no need to get a taxi anywhere unless you are planning to go further afield, which was the primary reason for us choosing this hotel. As the oldest hotel in Cuba, it does have a certain charm to it, although there... More

What a location!! At the most reasonable price I found in the area, it is still a bargain, BUT, I found the desk staff very indifferent, sometimes choosing to chat with each other rather than to the guests. The doormen seemed to think their job was to guard the door... blocking passage nearly every chance they had. Not like they... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Inglaterra for one night. We were staying at the Breezes Jibacoa resort (about an hour out of Havana) and came for a two day, one night visit of Havana. We paid $144CAD booking in advance on line. According to Wikipedia, the hotel is the oldest in Cuba, being founded in 1875, with... More

Stayed here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the buzz around the place. The rooms were large and clean and air-conditioned. The staff were helpful, the music on the terrace bar was brilliant and the mojitos were strong!

We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in Havana in August last year. It’s an old hotel back to about 100 years ago. Of course it needs some renovation and actually some construction was going on during our stay. I like the hotel, although you find things are bit sloppy here or there, but we found all fine. We... I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed every day although the weather did not cooperate all the time but that is Mother Nature. The hotel staff were excellent especially Ania and Diana who provide great information on the city and hotel. They also provided excellent translation services when required. The room I had (314) was excellent with a small balcony... More

this was the last Cuban hotel we stayed in and unfortunately the worst. We me some lovely Cuban people during our stay but unfortunately a lot of the staff in the hotel were the exception and displayed a differential attitude. The colonial restaurant was appalling in quality of food and service not somewhere we would stay again despite it's history.

Spent 5 nights here with a group. My room was on the side which made it quite, but it was dark with only 3 slim vertical windows in the door to the balcony to provide light. While my bathroom was large with a great walk-in shower and rain shower head, the room was small and a bit grim. While there... More

The hotel is smack bang in the centre of Havana. We arrived with no preconceptions & were astonished at the grandeur of the place. True it shows it's age but gracefully. The rooms were a good size & the beds were comfortable. Staff were mostly helpful & friendly without being overly so. Breakfast was good with a large variety on... More
