Considering the issues in Cuba, Habana Libre offered decent accommodation and excellent buffet breakfast. The restaurant on the ground also served western food so staying in Cuba felt like any other place in the world. Would love to go back!

Rooms large; ask for seaside view. Fridge works (sometimes). Bathroom fine. Good value. Maid service could be better. Get to breakfast buffet before or after the thundering hoards. Enjoy the homegrown papaya. You won't enjoy the coffee machines. Don't eat dinner here. Lobby bar is nice and drink prices reasonable. It's a good base for sightseeing. You can walk to... More

We spent three nights here at the end of trip to the interior. We had stayed at the Vedado at the start of the trip, and were not keen to repeat the experience. We arrived without a reservation but had no problem getting a room with a great view on the 23rd floor. The room was large, and showing its... More

We stayed here for the first 4 days of our fortnight honeymoon in Cuba. Our room was on the 24th floor and the views across Havana were amazing. The room was spacious clean and air conditioning was lovely after being in the hot smog of Havana. As we were on honeymoon we got a nice complimentary fruit platter and champagne... More

It's a historic hotel as you can see in the lobby (full of photos of Castro and his army overtaking the place at the beginning of the revolution). The facilities deserves a full refurbishment and I had some problems with the window (it was noisy until I managed to stick some paper in it and prevent the window's vibration). The... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in April and were pleasantly surprised. Our room on the 17th floor was spotlessly clean, very spacious with a superb sea view. The outdoor swimming pool was a real bonus with plenty of spare comfortable sun beds. The breakfast buffet had an extensive choice but the omelette station had a large queue unless you... More

I went to this hotel with my husband and 8 year old daughter as part of a 2 centre package. We stayed on the 15th floor which had great views. Breakfast was good too. The swimming pool was ideal after a day of sight seeing. There is a great ice cream place nearby called Coppelia and it is a short... More

We had read really bad reports about this hotel so was not expecting much. Not what we thought! Very pleased. We stayed on the 22nd floor with wonderful view over the city and the harbour. (Would recommend high floors for the view) The beds were clean, lots of hot water and evidence of double glazing recently fitted. No noise and... More

It's an awfull hotel! Only the highest floors have good quality! I've been on the 7th and the walls and furniture were completely destroyed, the bed was of the lowest quality, the AC wasn't working and the window was letting the wind come in! From the outside a nice hotel! Staff with some difficulties with English spoken!

Stayed for 2 nights in early january. Honeymooners. Got a nice clean room with an amazing view over havana. However, as others have pointed out, the hallways are dark (only 25% of the lightbulbs are in working order) and are not kept clean. The pool area and breakfast buffè are good, allthough not european 5 star class (but as others... More
