We wanted a room at the hotel, but despite assurances the day before that we simply need to return the next day no need to book, they were all out of rooms and we have to stay at the more expensive cabanas (suites) instead. Pros - large living room, bed, and bedroom; working airconditioner. Cons - operator would lie to... More

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nites recently and found the hotel to be below average on many things. It very much needs some money spent on the rooms and they could be so much nicer. The staff seemed very abrupt and lacking in care all round. The pool was filthy and looked pretty disgraceful until they finally... More

We stayed in the bungalows for a couple of nights and to be honest, we're glad it wasn't any longer. The apartments were in pretty poor condition and had more of a "motel" type feel and although there was certainly potential for it to be better it needs a thorough over-hall. The pools are ok, although not all in use... More

As with many hotels in Cuba, maintenance is a problem. Windows are rarely cleaned and small things never get repaired. Stayed two nights on a tour and found the rooms adequate and the food quite good. Unfortunately the Cubans seem to think that very loud entertainment at dinner is a good thing but we did not appreciate it. Have to... More

Could be a great place to stay but it isn't or wasn't in our case.Good points are the pools. But not if half of them are empty! The beach you are kidding me it is like sunbathing in a car park. Came up from a southern beach resort to be very disappointed in the hotel. The bungalows were in a lovely setting... More

We stayed at the Comodoro Hotel during our recent stay in Havana from March 24 - March 31, 2012. It was great, very quiet and having the winding pool outside of our terrace was amazing. The stay was very pleasant. Our room was always clean and nothing was stolen. However we chose to keep our valuables locked in our suitcase... More

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions - its quite good - we liked it because its out of the hussle and bussle of old Havana and near to my favourite Cigar shop. However we were there in February 2012 and our rooms were broken into. We are sure it was an "inside job" as the hotel refused... More

Me and two of my friends recently went to Cuba on our holidays. We stayed one night in the Comodoro Hotel in Havana. The tour guide, Letitia, was most helpful with getting accommodation in Pedro Casa ( Trinidad ) and Vinalas. She even came to our hotel with her three year old son and her husband to have drinks with... More

The Comodoro is a perfectly decent hotel, but it definitely lacks the charm and sophistication of some of the historical hotels in Old Havana. I think this is more for the relax or kick your feet up at the pool/beach crowd. Tons of swimming pools and a private beach help in that regard. The positives include spacious and clean bungalows.... We arrived recently after a flight from Gatwick, and all I can say is, yuk. Very old fashioned room, filthy dirty curtains air conditioning not working, electricals indescribabe, pool area dirty. We stayed one night as it was late when we arrived and checked out first thing the following day! No comment More
