Staying at Hotel Ambos Mundos is a bit like staying in a museum! Don't expect to have a grand bedroom with all mod cons! However, the gentile ambience of the hotel makes up for perhaps having a little less comfort with the accommodation. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town and the rooftop bar where you... Positives - room was small but lovely room with everything needed, fantastic roof terrace-bar-resturant which was a great place to relax in a busy city.Negatives - painting the lobby area meaning smell and dust. Two floors sealed off and being completely renovated meaning noise from 7.30 in the morning. I guess the lobby renovations will be finished in a couple... More

Museum is probably a misnomer for this tiny single room. At CUC2 for a 10 minutes commentary in what used to be the hotel room Hemingway resided in when in town, the tour is rather expensive unless you have a real interest in Hemingway. You'll see a mix of replicas and original artifacts and tours are available in English and... More

Busy area bustling with locals and European tourists. A feast for all of the senses! The architecture is stunning and full of old world charm and character reminding one of Havana's heyday back in the fifties. Amazing artifacts at this hotel from Hemingway plus a visit to his room helps one feel the spirit of this great writer. Exceptional location.

The hotel was beautiful and the bar was great! The rooms themselves were nothing special but clean and comfortable enough. We mainly used them for sleeping anyhow. The hotel was perfectly located for exploring all the nooks and crannies of Havana and we were very pleased with the service. It was also interesting to tour Hemingway's room there, but his... More

A great refurbished hotel on Obispo that retains Ernest Hemingway's room of choice as a small museum of his artefacts for you to visit. Continue up in the old metal cage lift to the roof however and the hotel takes on a presence of its own. A wonderful rooftop bar and restaurant with views over Old Havana and La Cabana... More

Calle Obispo can be exhausting: people, heat etc. the café/bar at Hotel Ambos Mundos is really nice to have a little rest before exploring further. It has the typical Havana old touch, it is as if everything had a nice patina to it. Absolutely love the atmosphere, every time we sat there someone was playing the piano. At some point... More

We went into the lobby to view at the many photos of Hemingway while we also enjoyed a drink from the updated, modern bar (and modern lobby). It's a large lobby and accommodates multiple people easily. Room 511 is said to be where Hemingway wrote "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and it is made to look like it could be... More

The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Havana Vieja. The rooms we were in didn't have outside windows, however the roof top terrace is such a beautiful place to start the day with an extensive breakfast and finish the day with a mojito. Lots of tourists come to see and visit Ernest Hemingway room at the 5th floor.... More

The hotel is well located. It is dated and the cleanliness isn't the best. The staff are average with customer service lower on the scale the other hotels. The room was adequate and the roof top bar had amazing views. I personally wouldn't stay here again.
