I stayed at this hotel for 10 days during a trip to Havana. The rooms were comfortable but it is best if you ask for an outside room since the inside rooms have no light because the window opens to the hall. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. I would stay here again especially because it is centrally... More

For anyone who is a fan of Ernest Hemingway as a novelist and an intriguing character, a visit to his room in the Hotel Ambos Mundos is a must. We did not stay in this hotel, so cannot comment on how it is to stay in but I would imagine it is pretty noisy for most of the day from... More

We didn't stay at this hotel but it was one of our favourite places to eat and drink in Havana. There is a lovely bar on the ground floor which, during the day , you can watch groups of tourists tripping in and out to view photos of Ernest Hemingway on their trek. The bar has a couple of televisions... More

I first stayed at the Ambos Mundos Hotel in May 2001, then again in 2002. A the time the hotel was a bit antiquated but initially I was thrilled at the idea that Ernest Hemingway had lived there for several years and had written “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and “Green Hills of Africa.” I returned to the Ambos Mundos... Havana is booked to the gills lately. With the improved relations between US/Cuba and everyone trying to get in before the US "ruins it". With that said we were lucky to get a room at all anywhere in the old town and for two nights this hotel was fine. It was picked, booked and paid for in advanced by the... More

Fun piano bar in the lobby, staff is attentive. This is nice hotel with smallish rooms. Many tourists visit it as Hemingway stayed here and his room is now a small museum. this makes the elevator crowded at times, but the stairs are always open. The rooftop restaurant is also popular and has great views.

The hotel is located in the heart of old Havana, in an ideal location to explore the old town. It's in the hustle and bustle so one needs to be prepared to accept the noise - anything from street musicians, tourists visiting Hemingway's room on the 5th floor or the rooftop bar. Check-in was fast and we were pleased to... More

All of the above for sure, but rude staff (seems to be the norm for Cuba) with the exception of the bell boys and one lad at breakfast..... If you're on the fifth floor at the front be prepared for middle of the night furniture moving on the terrace which is noisy! However, has character and is really in a... More

Didn't stay at the hotel, but just had to give a shout-out to the roof-top bar, which boasts what I would declare to be the best pina coladas in the solar system. Friggin incredible, and with a great view over Old Havana while you enjoy a few.

Never stayed here but used the rooftop bar a couple of times after a bit of sight seeing. The view from the roof is lovely & the trip in the old lift is a blast from the past. The Mojitos are nice but the best is the Pina Coladas, served in the fruit itself it is very creamy infact it is... More
