A great refurbished hotel on Obispo that retains Ernest Hemingway's room of choice as a small museum of his artefacts for you to visit. Continue up in the old metal cage lift to the roof however and the hotel takes on a presence of its own. A wonderful rooftop bar and restaurant with views over Old Havana and La Cabana... More

Calle Obispo can be exhausting: people, heat etc. the café/bar at Hotel Ambos Mundos is really nice to have a little rest before exploring further. It has the typical Havana old touch, it is as if everything had a nice patina to it. Absolutely love the atmosphere, every time we sat there someone was playing the piano. At some point... More

We went into the lobby to view at the many photos of Hemingway while we also enjoyed a drink from the updated, modern bar (and modern lobby). It's a large lobby and accommodates multiple people easily. Room 511 is said to be where Hemingway wrote "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and it is made to look like it could be... More

The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Havana Vieja. The rooms we were in didn't have outside windows, however the roof top terrace is such a beautiful place to start the day with an extensive breakfast and finish the day with a mojito. Lots of tourists come to see and visit Ernest Hemingway room at the 5th floor.... More

The hotel is well located. It is dated and the cleanliness isn't the best. The staff are average with customer service lower on the scale the other hotels. The room was adequate and the roof top bar had amazing views. I personally wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is a great example of Cuban culture and history. I stayed there for 3 nights and it was fully okay. Cuba is not Europe or Asia but Cuba. That is why it is so interesting to visit Havana and to stay at a real Cuban hotel. Many write about the staff - me too - they are friendly... More

Had been overbooked at Santa Isabel so came to this hotel told 4* rubbish 1st night no water, musty smelling and reception no help. Tours come in constantly as Hemingway stayed here. Breakfast was ok on the terrace, overpriced bar, set in the old town so easy to wander around and find better places. Don't bother paying for this hotel

We stayed one night in hotel Ambus Mundo. Great location in old town and amazing panorama view from the roof terrace, but nothing else worth of mentioning. There´s only pinch left of the old time splendour. Poorly maintained, smelled stuffy and moldy. Not very friendly staff.

Despite the fact I paid in advance one night in Ambos Mundos, I had a very bad surprise when arrived: I was not on the list at the hotel. A lady contacted me immediately to tell me that it was overbooked and I need to go in Park View Hotel. Terrible experience!

Arrived having fully paid in advance, to lack of knowledge of our reservation. They suggested we pay a $100 deposit until next day when it could be sorted. Naturally we declined and asked to see the manager. Then they took us in anyway. Problem is that at rooms 217, 317, 417 etc there is a noise all day and night.... More
