The Isabel is a beautiful period hotel in a fantastic location. Our room, a suite overlooked the busy square and without doubt was near perfect. The bed very comfortable. The bathroom well equipped and spacious. Breakfast was good, although as another reviewer mentioned was very inconsistent in both quality and service. More

Colonial period features are well thought through and followed up through bedroom, wadrobes, sitting room, windows, console tables, bathroom, etc. All of these details are good, but most definitely not a 5-star luxury! Staff are friendly but do not go out of their way to help. Location opposite of the Museum of the City and Castillo de La Real Fuerza,... More

We have stayed in Havana multiple times and would strongly recommend Santa Isabel. It is really well situated, a short walk from pretty much anything on the tourist route. The hotel itself has a long porch/colonnade where breakfast is served, an interior courtyard, in the style of the older homes and this was of course, such a place at one... More

Hotel Santa Isabel has a great location on the Plaza del Armas. The Cubans call it a 5 star hotel but the rest of the world would rate it maybe 2 stars. Our room had a sitting room which opened to the plaza but the balcony doors were very difficult to manage. The bed was made with a sheet just... More

The hotel is an old count's palace, which overlooks the pretty Plaza des Armas, pedestrianised, with gardens in the middle and the other side, the port. The hotel has kept the charme of the old colonial style, with attractive furniture, nicely decorated rooms (ours was on the terrace, with the view to the square). The room was clean, so was... More

We have stayed two nights at Santa Isabel because we have been moved from the Telegrafo Hotel to there. The Santa Isabel is said to have 5 stars (so they told us it would have been an upgrade from Telegrafo) but it is not. We have already heard before that it is totally usual that they relocate you in other... More

Although a lot of people had recommended this hotel saying that this is the best in Havana; well in this respect it was BUT be warned!!!! You have to remember that this is still a poor country so don’t go expecting much. We have the corner room 214 which I believe is shown in one of the pictures in somebody... More

having stayed at Hotel telegrafo, an upscale place by Cuban standards, the S. Isabel is a better choice but pricier. Pres. Carter was here, as everyone knows, in 2002. Large rooms with balconies, poorly made mojotes with little rum in them,... located on the Plaza Armas which is very quiet- pedestrians only- and great harbor views from the rooftop bar.... More

Our last night in Cuba was spent in the Junior suite before our flight home! Wow.... Beautiful hotel in perfect location. In the heart of the old town, easy to walk to restaurants, and stroll around the Market looking at all the books on display! Great carnival atmosphere in the afternoon when we were there! Highly recommend! More

The Hotel Santa Isabel was a beautiful hotel, situated in the heart of the old Havana. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and our room was absolutely spotless. The location was excellent - walking distance to the key sights and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel. More
