This was the perfect hotel for our stay in Havana - great location and stylish. The service wasn't great, particularly at breakfast, but we were aware that this is a problem in most hotels in Cuba. But being so central to the old city landmarks more than made up for that. Definitely book a suite facing the plaza if you... More

It was our anniversary the weekend we stayed at the Santa Isabel so had arranged a Junior Suite over looking the square. All reports that the upgrade to a junior suite is a good thing to do are totally correct. The room floods with afternoon sunlight through vaulted stained glass windows, the views across the square with the bustle and... More

Turned up at the Hotel to be toldthe hotel was full and we would have to go to another hotel in the new part of the city, told them I need to speak with a tour guide they then said oh we have found you a room for the night in the San Felipe in the next square ( very... More

We had a junior suite and it was lovely. Floor to ceiling shuttered doors overlooked the Plaza de Armes and when the sun shone through the stained glass top half-moon window it reflected vibrant colours across the room. It was the perfect, romantic place to celebrate an anniversary. The facilities in the room and in the hotel were excellent. Despite... More

This was our first visit to Cuba and so we were very open minded and thought 3 nights in Habana Vieja was a good place to start. The Hotel is set on the Plaza de Aramas .This is a lively area where many book stalls are set up during the day. There is no passing traffic and at night the... More

On arrival at the Isabel for our last night in Cuba, we were told that the Government had taken over the hotel for an American delegation and we were rebooked into the hotel Ambos Mundos (terrible hotel - see review) As a Sweetener we were offered a free dinner in the Isabel. The dinner was not good, I had very... More

My friend and I tried to get a room at this hotel on the 19.2.15. We spoke to front desk person (Alina) by phone who told us there was availability but that their cash machine was not working and they could do a "cash transaction in any currency". This was at an inflated price. We declined. Within an hour or... More

We had to go for the junior suites, because we wanted to give our parents a treat, and we ourselves were three pax. 3 nights for two j-suites and five pax makes 2.400 CUC altogether, which means some US$2.800. That's a load of money! The j-suites are spacious, all overlooking the Plaza de las armas, breakfast is included (and which... More

What makes a 5* experience? Location - central on elegant plaza with some of the must see sights. Accommodation - lovely colonial room with balcony overlooking plaza des Armas. Service - Iron Lady on reception who seemed perplexed by our voucher/booking and eventually checked us in with no welcoming cocktail. Breakfast was good, given the difficulty in sourcing ingredients, albeit... More

We were so looking forward to staying in this hotel but it was a huge let down. The location is fantastic and the hotel itself is pretty but the staff are so so indifferent that you simply just want to get out as quickly as possible. We arrived after a long flight and were met by an unfriendly face with... More
