We were very excited to stay at this historical hotel. We stayed for three nights before heading to the beach. The location was good for us a and we walked most everywhere.(fyi Havana is not a very pedestrian friendly city...crossing streets was a bit of an adventure:-) The one time we did take a taxi back from the old city... more

I stayed at this hotel briefly while visiting Havana for two days from Varadero. The hotel is beautiful and seemed to be a tourist site in its own right. The rooms were lovely and clean with a very big clean bathroom which seemed to be very newly decorated. The hotel had a very nice outside bar with amazing mojitos which... more

Wow! It's like stepping into a timewarp! Faded grandeur, colourful history and stunning location! Our room was huge. Dual aspect, windows facing the Malecon and also Havana town. The gardens are beautiful and the terrace overlooks the Malecon, where you can sit, sip your mojito and watch the classic American cars pass by and watch as the evening draws in... more

Stayed at the Nacional and as it is histoical it is run down the rooms smell moldy and it is in a bad neighborhood. Need to take a cab to tourist and interesting areas. The streets around the Nacional are dirty, filthy and smelly. For the price the service in non-existant and I felt like I was on a "cruise... more

It is one of the hotels which make you feel sorry for the very idea of travelling. This feeling is especially strong as you enter your room. Then as you lower your expectations from the hotel the staff keeps beating them and pushing your expectation line lower and lower. 1) In first 10 minutes you discover that the room is... more

The food particularly the breakfast was top notch! The staff were so kind. The pool was nice but your in such an amazing city that you must get out into the... more

Stunning building, just returned from a multi centre break, 3 nights havana 4 nights varadero. Hotel overlooking the malecon. 10 min stroll into the city of Havana. Breakfast an experience! Crammed and very busy, difficult to find a clean re dressed table. Views of the city are stunning and i would hightly reccommend a stay at this very historical hotel more

Great location in Vedado, near the Malecon and about a 5-10 min taxi ride into Havana Vieja. Rooms were clean, a good size with air con, satellite tv, and 24hr room service. The lobby staff were on the whole friendly and very helpful. The restaurants were better than what we expected, however breakfast is rather chaotic. There is no table... more

Excellent hotel, you can feel the history in there. Mojitos outside either sat on the sofas, or down overlooking the Malecon is a must. Nice rooms, friendly staff, good food. more
