This was my third stay in this hotel. The building is magnificent and the big courtyard has a lot of character and sitting there in the afternoon with a glass of mojito and listening to the house trio playing and singing "Comandante Che Guevara" is just great. The garden in front of the hotel has great views of th malecon... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. After incompetant and lousy hotels elsewhwere in Cuba it was a relief. The view is great over a terrace looking straight to the Atlantic ocean. The room is cozy and comfartable with dim interiors. The backyard bar is great, live music Every night. The food is okay. If you tip the waitresses... More

It's a national monument, but still absolutely in working order. The sea air was refreshing after some days in Old Havana with air so polluted it was hard to breathe. Beautiful garden, good pool and nice bars with live music. Expensive for Cuba, but worth every peso.

We're just back from an amazing holiday in Cuba - first 2 nights at the wonderful Saratoga Hotel in Old Town Havana and 7 glorious nights in the glorious Melia Buenavista on Cayos Santa Maria … both "true" 5-star hotels and we were thoroughly spoilt. On return to Havana we thought we'd try the so-called 'new town' and the Nacional... More

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba is firmly in the tradition of the grand destination resort hotels of the early 20th century. Take the super-elegant, towering Biltmore in Coral Gables, roll back room furnishings to their original style with no updated flourishes, subtract the golf course, shrink the giant swimming pool to a more normal but still generous leisure pool and... Dear guest. Thanks for letting us know your opinion on the National Hotel of Cuba. As you say, this is a hotel of 84 years old, it has become a National Monument. It is a historic hotel. Their workers have always been linked to the revolutionary process since before the Revolution. The Hotel if it has internet access, even WI-FI.... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for five nights as part of a ten day trip while visiting Cuba. The driveway and entryway are quite impressive, especially when the classic 1950 Chevies and Fords line the entrance and there is live and loud music in the outdoor courtyard nightly (until almost midnight - so loud we couldn't sleep... Dear guest. I carefully read your coment and this is not related to our services at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. It is true that this is an old hotel, it is 84 years old, but we strive to give our customers the comfort of today. About the articles stolen, question which is unusual in the hotel, you should report... More

Don't waste your money here. Its a beautiful building of historical significance but expect very poor service from every department. Like other reviews mention the rooms are very dated, lots of amenities don't work or are nonexistent, and for this price you're better off staying at the NH Parque down the street. From reception to the cambio onsite (which requires... More

Customer. We have discussed your comment among personnel involved. Simply you try to tarnish the image of the hotel without talking about your own behavior, when after having been kindly treated by the public relations, you started to shout and gesticulate at the Lobby of the Hotel, due to this the manager required to you and the security officer approached.... I have to try and be subjective in this review, but overall I was incredibly disappointed with the Hotel Nacional. Expectations when visiting Cuba must be realistic. This is not a four star hotel by European standards, which shouldn’t be and was of no surprise. The public areas are really lovely though. The place is steeped in history, there are... More

Stayed for one night on route to Cayo Santa Maria. Service arriving was non existent this time and we had to lug our heavy cases up the stairs, perhaps this was due to the fact it was raining. Check in was fast and friendly and we were given a room on the 6th floor overlooking the back of the hotel,... More
