Hotel Nacional is at the heart of Havana in Cuba, although not all inclusive I loved the history throughout this hotel. You have to have a walk around the underground walkways (there is a little Cuban guy who is really sweet, he doesn't speak English but he is able to communicate what he is pointing out). I wasn't lucky enough... More

We did not stay here. We had a meal in the al la carte restaurant as part of the La parisien show. Initially the staff were a bit aloof, and somewhat rude but as the meal progressed they were nicer and more polite. I had dietary requirements and they assisted me with menu choices and amended it slightly so that... More

We enjoyed the tour, the atmosphere, and the history. Take the tour of the tunnels, the references to the Cuban missile crises, the Spanish fortress, and the huge Spanish and German canons are impressive. The hotel is grande, the history and pictorial reference to the Gangsters, Politicians, and the Celebrities interesting. Best cocktails in Habana. I will make the National... More

Apart from the incredible building and grounds, the hotel is run down with bad maintenance, noise, terrible service and very low quality all around. I travel a lot and stays in some of the world best 5 stars hotels, and have stayed in the Nacional since 20 years, and things have gone only downhill since. 3 stars at the most.... More

This hotel offers a glimpse of the grandeur that once existed in Havana. The lobby, with its high ceilings and wood paneling, conveys an era of opulence. The grounds are extensive, offering outdoor seating for a drink or dinner. The views are gorgeous. Our room was small and comfortable. The service was good, shower was fine and the elevators were... This is a lovely hotel with the lobby in its original design. It's busy with individuals and tour groups so it is noisy. Our room was small and dark but wonderfully quiet. Breakfast is a very busy time with guests from all over. Food is good. Staff is very good. We saw a show, Buena Vista, and are glad we... More

Charming, damp and musty. The internet is suddenly much stronger than it was just a few months ago. Always busy with generally older guests. Breakfast items not much fresher. Swimming pool always closed but swum in it anyway. Despite its many failings there is nothing quite like El Nacional.

We just returned from 10 nights in Havana with my wife where we stayed at the famous Hotel Nacional.. Our disappointment started when we arrived to find that our "double" room was in fact a room with three single beds when we had clearly booked a double room (being a married couple traveling with no children). On top of that... More

We stayed here for our final night in Cuba and I am glad we did, as it really is a time capsule from the 1950s. Pretty much all the interior seems unchanged in 40 years. A real highlight was a (free) 90 minute tour of the hotel and grounds conducted by a retired Cuban Professor of History. Sadly, the service... More

If I have to rate it, I will probably give it 2 stars. There are many more hotels that are way better in La Habana, but... I will probably stay at Hotel Nacional again. It´s beautiful, nostalgic, has good view. Everyone who´s someone has stayed there...
