It's one of the most expensive places to have a drink in town, but as one of if not the last standing monuments from time gone by, it's worth saving up a few CUC and take a drink or two on the terrace. Old fashioned service, and well made cocktails. Makes you feel like you are back in time!

When I decided to take a trip to Cuba, the "hotel Nacional" was a natural choice as it had everything I was looking for: a nice swimming pool allowing me to do laps, a gym, a nice location, history, comfort and, of course, the luxury of a five star hotel. How wrong I was and on every single account. I... More

If you’re in Havanna, get a drink at this place! The mojitos for 5CUC are not cheap, but worth every penny. The view is astonishing and the staff efficient and friendly. The hotel also has a good cigar shop, which sells cigars at the same price as everywhere else. Next time we’ll not only get a drink but a room... More

Ok so the postives, the hotel is full of history, the guided tour is a must and every corridor springs a surpise, be it seeing the room where Frank SInatra stayed or even seeing Ken Livingstone displayed on the wall as a celebrated guest. Unfortunately a great stay was tarnished by the fact that money was taken from our zipped... More

The hotel is iconic and historical. It has a lovely terrace and a beautiful vantage point overlooking the Malecon to have a drink and watch the sun set. The room was small but well looked after and on the 7th floor was quiet. The breakfast buffet was amazing with every type of breakfast you would want. The pool was nice... More

Stayed here for 3 nights on my trip to Cuba before going up to Varadeo. This hotel was a good place to stay as I felt like I was experiencing the real Cuba. The room was old fashioned and felt dark due to brown curtains but open these and the room takes on a new look. The hotel was built... More

My family and I stayed recently for 4 nights. We love the hotel. Clean, conveniently located, nice views, full of history and very friendly and helpful staff. Unlike my experience in an all-inclusive in Varadero, you find helpful staff at El Nacional. I had lots of trouble with my credit cards and the manager always was available to find a... More

We stayed at the Hotel Nacional in June, the rainy season apparently. We had one shower of rain in the night and one thunderstorm when we went into the mountains! We absolutely loved the Nacional! I emailed ahead and said we would like a non-smoking, twin-bedded room that was quiet and looked over the sea..........we got a smoking, king-sized (Henry... More

Recently spent 4 nights at the Nacional and loved it. Not quite to 5 Star Western standards, but close (for Cuba) and overall the staff friendly and helpful with a few minor exceptions. My initial concern was that the Nacional would be located too far from the action but that proved not to be the case: many bars writhing waking... More

We stayed here for our last couple of nights out of our five week stay in Cuba and were very pleased. The place in itself is a landmark and is located on a hilltop on top of the Malecon providing great views of the iconic shoreline. As far as Cuban-standards go i'm pretty sure this is top of the line.... More
