Very safe walkable location to restaurants, stores, etc. A very secure, comfortable Casa with a welcoming family. Lovely breakfasts, great coffee, good times spent with Wilfredo and his family. We stayed for two weeks and would certainly go back again. Marnie, Louise and Glenn.

I stayed at Casa Mer for 11 nights in January 2015. Wilfredo, his mother and aunt absolutely made the experience. They are so kind and helpful. Wilfredo, a physician, helped my fellow traveler when she got sick. And his mother Mercedes and her sister sent us off every morning with a big hug. Breakfasts were large and delicious, rooms were... We stayed at Casa Mer for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience. The accommodations, in a timeless Art Deco house, were very comfortable, with a spacious room and private bath, but the best part was meeting and getting to know Wilfredo, his mother Mercedes and her sister. The quiet Vedado neighborhood, with it's grand old houses and leafy boulevards... More

I went to Havana on business last December (22/12/14) and all the hotels were sold out. I'm accustomed to staying in private houses and have stayed in many though out Cuba. This one is among the top Casa's that I've stayed at. It's located in a quite and safe area of the city, slightly off the beaten track. Although well... More

Thank you so much for having me to Wilfredo, his lovely mom, aunt, staff and the dog, Jung ;)) The house is impressive, with all original elements, very clean, very good breakfast, very positive atmosphere, a pretty big back yard which is rare in cases particulares. The location is also very good, a safe, quite, nice neighbourhood in Vedado, few... More

As a solo female tourist to Havana, I must say that my experience at Casa Mer was wonderful. My hosts were extremely lovely with smiles everyday and seemed very genuine. Casa Mer is a great spacious house and my room was very comfortable with my own bathroom. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Cuba. Thank you so... More

Just read what the others have said before me and I totally agree with the wonderful comments this casa receives. We were also sent to Casa Mer from Horacio (Casa Antigua). We were 2 families with 3 children- 7 in total (twins aged 9 and a 15 years old boy). Wilfredo ,his mum Mercedes and aunt made us feel very... More

We were lucky enough to spend a good deal of time travelling across Cuba during three weeks in February and March, and this was surely one of our favorite casas. The Casa Mer is wonderfully spacious , comfortable and beautifully decorated. Our studio with an independant entrance and a bathroom was very clean and also very quite at night. The... More

Our stay at Casa Mer was organised by Horacio at Casa Antigua down the road and glad we trusted him again as it was a great stay. Our room was large with beautiful high ceilings, private bathroom, big bed (slightly hard mattress). Breakfast was the best we had in Cuba, with eggs, ham, fruit juice, fruit, great coffee and more.... More

Our family of 6 stayed twice at Casa Mer - the first time on arrival for 4 nights and when we returned to Havana after our travels through Cuba. It is a magnificent 1940s house designed along classic Art Deco lines - wide corridors, funky bathrooms and the most wonderful hosts. Wilfredo, Alexandro and the beautiful character of Mercedes -...
