This hotel manages to alternate between pretty good, fairly appalling and occasionally slightly terrifying, The staff are reasonably friendly, and offer a parking service, which is pretty impressive considering the low cost of the rooms. Things go a bit downhill in the rooms though. Personally I've never before seen a hotel room with a heavy duty deadlock on the door!... more

The Santa Clara Libre sits right across from the town's main square. We got a room on the 5th floor with a (sunrise) great view. Aside from the super slow elevator, the hotel is OK. . The rooms are bare but clean. As is usual in many Cuban hotels in this category, the soap is tiny, so bring your own.... more
