We stayed at El Colony for 5 days in February, essentially for 2 of us to dive and the other 2 to relax and take some sun. We were surprised how empty the hotel was, given that February is the ideal time to visit the island. As a result there was not much ambiance at the hotel as the only... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks in July, i spent most of this time learning to dive and everyone was very nice and the equipment was all excellent. We were in a large group but they managed to check us in quickly. A few problems with the room, our A/C didnt work in the first room but they soon moved... More

The service was friendly and helpful and English was quite well understood. The Bungalow rooms were clean, spacious and well equiped with fridge and A/C. The beds were also very comfy and huge! There is a pool and a lovely tropical beach with palm trees and wonderful sunsets - great for romantics who are happy to do nothing but hold... More

Here's the deal - you have no choice but stay here if you want easy access to the diving at Punta Frances. It's not a great place, but it's not the end of the world either - definitely come here if you want good diving. We saw a huge manatee, tens of sharks, huge lobsters and lots of fish in... More

I visited Cuba for a week with my brother. We booked five days at the Hotel El Colony for diving, through a Canadian agent (wowcuba.com). What an adventure! We took the 6:00 flight from Havana to Nueva Gerona. The agent from Cubatours was late meeting us at the terminal, we just squeaked onto the flight. First tip: book your flight... More

For being Cuba, this hotel is adeqate. My very helpful local travel agent Lazaro at the Cuban connection (-------) was great at finding good rates in Havana and Isle of Youth for me, last minute. I highly reccommend them. Please understand that Cuba is developing and that you can't expect the same comforts there as you can in your own... More

It's not easy to get to, but once you arrive you are in for a treat. 16 double bungalows impecibaly furnished and spotless. All are on the beach with the most mgnificent sunsets in all of the Carribean. Decent food and great staff. If you like snorkling or Scuba this is the last best place in the whole caribean.
