Our guide told us it was russian design and hurricane proof, and that should have warned us! The interior, in public areas, was indeed looking like a 70's communist place with fake black leather sofas and all!
And the "restaurant"? Don't eat there! Go bakc into town for that, a state cantine is a better description than anything else! I know there isn't alway much variety in food type in Cuba due to all the embargo's and all, but there are much places in Cuba that do serve better food than here, and the atmosphere was communist everywhere too!
At that time some rooms were being renovated, so every now and then there would be an open gap instead of a room on your floor. The already renovated rooms were not that special.
