Wonderful place for divers. You will leave with new friends. The reef behind the hotel is incredible, with easy entry and exit. The rooms are no-frills, small and dark. The water was hot and abundant, the rooms were clean and the company couldn't be beat. This isn't a place for everyone - but I loved it. more

A mecca for divers who are above all interested in diving. Small number of rooms with very personal attention. Al's motto; "come as vacationers, leave as friends" is absolutely right on. Great advice on the island of Bonaire, local places to eat, shop visit. You will always run into some divers who are returning to the BD. When we were... more

Black Durgon is a great place to stay if diving is your main passion, we have visited there on 3 times now and will return in October 2008. This is a really relaxing family run establishment , no frills but plenty of friends. Doris does a great breakfast which sets your day off a treat, the diving and snorkelling at... more

For our purposes, Black Durgon was perfect, and we can't wait to return! Fishseeker's review was accurate, but like so many of the reviews on the internet have said, if you're looking for luxury, this might not be the place for you. However, if you don't mind sacrificing in comfort for an unbeatable price, a FANTASTIC location, and REALLY NICE... more

We had 4 of the 10 rooms Dec.15-22. We loved the location and convenience of walking out the dock and diving or snorkeling. Small wall and the house reef were wonderful and the underwater life was abundant and diverse. We also enjoyed the common area, where we visited and played cards each day. The inn itself was basic and clean... more

Great stay, met all of our needs. Al even loaned us a suitcase to take all our tourist geegaws home. Guess that means we need to go back to return the suitcase. Breakfast was good, facilities very adequate for the price. A very nice stay. more

The Black Durgon is a good place to stay. If you're looking for a swanky place, this isn't the place. However, if you're looking for friendly staff, clean (but basic) rooms, convenient diving, and as laid back an atmosphere as you'd want, this is the place. The rooms are very basic, but very convenient to the diving. They are kept... more

Anyone looking for a great place to stay on Bonaire, look no further. The Black Durgon Inn is a great find! My husband and I just returned from there and cannot say enough good things. The place is extremely relaxing, and you are treated more like a friend than a tourist. Their house reef is right there in the backyard,... more

We have recently returned from 5 days at Durgon Inn and have already emailed Rona about dates for our next return! We had a non-seafront room and when we saw it we were concerned that it might be noisy, facing the road, but we needn’t have worried. The room was basic but more than comfortable. There was no problem with... more

The Black Durgon is in a great location right on the water and one of the better dive sites in Bonaire, "Small Wall." If you are a scuba diver that likes to travel on the cheap, this bed and breakfast is very good. There is great storage for your gear and fresh tanks are always ready for the next dive.... more
