Full disclosure: we've been coming here since 1993, and have owned a cottage managed by Habitat since 1998. Since there are many good resorts on the island, why did we settle at Habitat? The location is excellent, and the dive operation just gets better. You may know that Captain Don Stewart died in late May, so one only "meets" the... More

Great place to run your dive adventures from. All the basic necessities that you need. Nothing fancy just a good place to stay. The boat dives are great and scheduled for your group. Roger is a class act and is there to help with any questions. Even told us how to deal with the local hospital for a small emergency.

We have stayed at Captain Dons for the last three years. We stay in one of the ocean front Jr. suites which are very nice with incredible views. All of the staff at Capt. Dons are very freindly and helpfull. The dive operation is outstanding. The dive boat crews have fun with the guests and each other which makes me... More

To begin, I would be willing to give Capt Don's 5 stars when they are finished upgrading the resort. They are currently making improvements to the resort and rooms. I stayed in a refreshed room and overall, it was very nice. Overall, I like the resort and the access for diving is excellent. I stayed in a pool front unit,... More

I have been to Bonaire twice and both times we have stayed at Captain Don's Habitat. overall clean resort, good staff and good food. They have continued to upgrade the property over the years! Breakfast is included in packages and is good. Excellent dives from the property and always iguanas to keep you company as you dine; looking out over... More

I continue to love staying at captain Don's Habitat. the hotel and staff are always pleasant. the buffet breakfast is enough to tide you over till dinner, which is good at the onsite restaurant Rum Runners. what brings me back for my fifteenth visit to hotel is the Outstanding diving facilities. you will not find another diver operation as good... I've been visiting Bonaire for over 25 years (off and on, as I am a professional diver) & been blessed to have traveled/worked all over the world as a Master Scuba Diver Instructor/Trainer. When in Bonaire, I have nearly always stayed at Habitat, and although sad that most of the ocean view deluxe villas are no longer available, The beds... More

The diving all over Bonaire is superb, so praising the diving is almost overkill. However, the unique conditions set up by the resorts on the coast like Captain Don's makes Bonaire diving even better: short boat rides (hooray!), no nutty guides telling you what you must do on every dive (diving freedom yay!) and the choice of boat, dock, or... This was our first dive resort experience, and we enjoyed it. While I have great things to say about the dive operation, the hotel has a lot that can be improved. First, almost all the flights arrive to the island at the same time. Rather than having extra help at the counter, roughly a dozen people showed up in each... More

We stayed at Coral Paradise next door and used the diving facilities at Captain Don’s for a week. Captain Don’s motto is “total diving freedom”. They are set up really well for shore diving or boat diving. I give them a four-star, because they are not really set up for inexperienced divers, which was my family at the time. They... More
