Five of us were traveling together. We had reserved a 2 bedroom apartment, but were disappointed with it when we saw it. Upon inquiring as to other options we were shown a bungalow and a villa. While the villa was more expensive, they cut us a deal and we took it. iI was a great decision. While the apartment was... more

Stayed at Captain Don's in an oceanview room for one night in late Feb/09, as a transfer from another hotel. ---The Good--- The property itself is quite nice, very much like any other property in the "International Country of Resortland" you could find in Mexico, Dominican Republic, or Cuba. The rooms are quite large and nice, with a large walk-out... more

If you dive OR snorkel - this is an amazing place to be. There is a profusion of sea life right off the dock - no need to take a boat, although there are many other places on or near the island to dive. Air (or Nitrox) tanks are available 24/7, which is great for a spontaneous trip, or a... more

Our family of ten arrived at 2:00 AM, and endured a painfully slow disorganized check-in. There were four people at the desk, but no one offered to help us find our units. The forms are available on line, so filling them out in advance is smart. No comment on the restaurant, because we do all of our own cooking. We... more

I spent 10 days at Captain Don's Habitat in September 2008 with a group of divers from the UK. It was a perfect resort for divers who want the freedom of diving wherever and whenever they want 24 hours a day. As a non-diver myself there were plenty of options for snorkeling in crystal clear waters while the others dived... more

We just returned from a 7-night stay at Captain Don's, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. We had clean towels each day, the dive staff was great, the diving beautiful, the location fantastic, and the food very good. We've been going to Capt Don's for several years. At one point we too felt it was could use... more

I'm sure this was the premier resort at one time, but it’s time to retire. The rooms were just plain dirty. I had to go to the market for cleaning supplies just to use the tub/shower, there was SO much scum in it. If they mopped, the water was dirty and left a sour smell behind. The towels were white....... more

This was our second trip to Bonaire, the first was 3-4 years ago. The first time we had a 2nd floor deluxe oceanview room, this time we were on the first floor. The rooms were identical but somewhat more worn. We had the towel problems expressed by others on our first trip there, so I had taken my own wash... more

I am schocked at the bad reveiws about this hotel. I stayed at captin don's habitat and it was fine. I have no complaints about the service provided by the cleaners, staff etc. All were freindly and helpfull. A super dive resort and superb scuba diving. Would recomand for divers only but there is a school onsite. more

This was our second trip to Captain Don's and to Bonaire- our first was in 2005. We definitely felt that many things had gone downhill and don't anticipate a future trip to Bonaire. Our first stop was to get a Budget rental at the airport and staff was barely courteous. Next stop was a grocery store where the check-out person... more
