Having read some of the previous reviews of this hotel we were very pleasantly surprised. We have travelled to Barbados many times and have stayed at Coconut Creek(knocked down and turned into flats), King's Beach and Sea Breeze and this is now our new favourite that we will be returning to again(as soon as we can arrange it!). Clearly a... more

This hotel is in a great location - very close to Holetown and only a short walk from the shops and amenities there. The hotel itself is on a very large plot, with a good amount of beach which is nice and sandy and not bad for swimming. Unfortunately, the hotel itself has seen better days - it is very... more

We stayed at the Discovery Bay over Easter 2008 - booked through Expedia. Excellent location, right on the beach with fantastic beach views and sunsets ! We chose to stay on an all inclusive basis and had a beach front room, clean and comfortable - housekeeping staff friendly and cheery, unlike some of the other staff. Waiting staff and some... more

Booked the hotel as it was fairly reasonable (all inclusive)and looked OK. Have stayed at many hotels before in Carribean and Maldives and Mauritius on beach holidays myself and my wife like nice things but are by no means fussy. Hotel looked OK as we pulled up to it. Staff on the reception were quite friendly and we had a... more

Summary If you want an excellent value Hotel in one of the very best locations on the West Coast, then Discovery Bay could be for you! Very friendly staff, very clean rooms and comfortable beds - we will go again - even though the Hotel has some shortcomings. If you want better, expect to pay a hell of a lot... more

We stayed in a garden view room in February. Overall, the hotel grounds were well maintained and the beach is nice. The room was in need of refurbishing. . .particularly the bathroom, which boasted rust stains in the tub and toilet and corroding fixtures. We only ate at the hotel one time for breakfast and the food was bland, making... more

You could pay double and stay at The Sandpiper next door, or you could have a better bit of beach, the same lovely views, comfortable rooms and friendly service at Discovery Bay. For a 3star hotel on the very fashionable side of Barbados it is great value. The staff are trying very hard to bring the place up to scratch,... more

We booked this hotel with www.travelrepublic.co.uk and saved about 35% compared with other sites. Confirmation was immediate and the voucher sent on the internet. We booked a sea view and enjoyed the top floor vista and the waves soothing us to sleep after a few rum cocktails. We booked transfers through www.holidaytaxis.com and were met and given an E Class... more

We stayed at Discovery Bay for one night at the end of Jan 2008 and were reallty surprised as to how much it has improved since the last time we stayed there about 4 years ago which was a very different experience. Whatever Rex Resorts have brought to the hotel it was much needed - well done ! The staff,... more
