We decided to extend our trip by 3 nights in Aruba and see what is was like to stay in Oranjestad, we're glad we did. Le Chateau was priced priced less the "high rise hotels", but you need to have different expectations. The location was so much better than we expected. You are one house removed from the road that... More

My husband and I stayed at Le Chateau for 5 nights and really enjoyed the alternative to a traditional hotel. Fred was a terrific host, providing whatever we asked for. Our apartment (Junior Suite) was simple but had everything we needed and was perfectly located across the street from a small beach and just down the road from downtown Oranjestad.... More

We stayed at Le Chateau for 10 days. We wanted to truly experience Oranjestad and the rest of the island. Le Chateau is perfectly located. Your host Fred is wonderful. Our apartment was exactly as described, couldn't of asked for anything more. A quick walk to town to the heart of shopping and lots of restaurants. I'm not sure why... More

We started coming to Le Chateau when it opened in 2002. It is the perfect location for everything. Five minute car ride from the airport, five minute walk to town, ten minute walk to bus station. Le Chateau is perfect for people who like a more private, and quiet vacation. It is also nice to to do our own cooking at... More

We did not like 95% of what we had there: - AirConditioner is not working - No Internet, sometime you can be lucky and get it for a few seconds - House has never been cleaned, trash never been removed -Coffeemaker is not working, no filters for that, no trash bags, no paper towels, no extra toilet paper, napkins and... We are sorry you feel this way, but it is obvious we got off to a bad start. Our rules are stated very clear that our apartments are 1 bedroom for 2 people. Also, it is in print that children under 6 years are free. You had miscalculated the age of your child to be 5 but the passport clearly... More

In november 2013 I went to Aruba for medical reasons. I was looking for a place with a kitchen but without a beach and a swimming pool. I didn't want it to be to noisy. On the internet I found a lot of aparments and I had problems chosing the right one. I search Le Chateau on google maps and... More

We stayed in Le Chateau for 12 days. The room was simply furnished but very clean and tidy. Beds were very comfortable, and free internet was great. The forth day I had a bit of cold, I went to the owner and asked is he had cold tablets, He didn't have any but within 20 minutes he delivered the most... More

We just spent 9 days at Le Chateau. It was absolutely perfect. One block from a lovely beach which was almost completely empty, two blocks from the Renaissance, and easy walking distance to downtown (groceries, shopping, etc). The apartment was huge and very clean. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed. My one concern was that there would be... More

My husband and I stayed in Fred's upper unit and thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts on the front porch and dinners on the back porch. Fred, an architect, designed the building himself. The cross-breeze through the upper unit was delightful. During the day, we could walk to the Renaissance Harbor to meet up with the scuba dive charters we were taking. At... More

It was my first time in Aruba and I didn't want the hustle and bustle of an expensive hotel. So I got to seeking an appartment instead, wanting also a feeling of being home while on vacation. Not only was my host Fred very cooperative with answering all my questions before booking, he was also the best of hosts I... More
