Won tickets on JetBlue and chose to visit Aruba. I requested to stay at the Riu Palace. The hotel is magnificant. Upon arrival they booked my husband, our daughter and myself in a room with a King bed. We contacted the front desk and within 1/2hr. they moved us to a room with 2 Double beds, overlooking both the pool... more

My family and I just returned from 5 days at the Riu (4/23 -4/28). It was our first trip to Aruba or any Riu. We had a great time! I have never written a vacation review before; however, I had read such a wide range of positive and negative reviews about the Riu in the weeks preceding our trip, I... more

We just returned from our visit to Aruba. We stayed there for 12 days. The hotel has openend in August 2007. It used to be the Aruba Grand. There are two new buildings A and B and one older building, building C. We read negative comments on the C building, but we did stay in C and the rooms were... more

Just returned from Aruba, we stayed at the Riu Palace from April 13-27. This was our honeymoon and we didn't take any shortcuts in terms of room and price etc... we wanted the best and RIU's have a good reputation. We experienced the RIU Bambu in Punta Cana and it was amazing! Great weather, great food and fantastic staff. Our... more

My best friend and I just returned from a week at the Riu Palace in Aruba (April 18-25th). We flew out of Toronto via Skyservice. I want to give you a completely unbiased and practical review of this resort and location so that you can be as informed as possible when making your travel decisions. I used tripadviser.com and found... more

We went to the Riu from 4/14-4/21/08 for our honeymoon. We chose Riu because we stayed at their resort in Mexico and were very pleased with that trip. Check in was a breeze and we were pleased with our room (706~Main Tower), with the exception of the service/guest elevator being outside of our door. It did get noisy at times,... more

I went with my boyfriend in Oct 2007. This was the newest hotel there at the time. It was definitely the talk of the island. Many people there own timeshares, and are anxious to know about the Riu. Aruba is filled with honeymooners and affluent retirees, so if you are looking for a spring-break party trip, Aruba isn't for you... more

We stayed at the Riu from April 16th to the 23rd. We took the advise of the forums and took a taxi to the hotel which cost $23 and worth every penny. We had a parital ocean view room. We had room 1035 on the 10th floor second from the end at the beach and what a view. It was... more

This was my husband's and my first trip to Aruba. After listening to our friends and family rave about it we decided to visit. We are die hard cruise fans - we've taken 8 cruises so far and wanted to go to Aruba but keep the pricing more in line with what we are used to paying for a cruise... more
