I've stayed at this hotel from 10-16 April for a short and much deserved (I hope!) break while traveling from NYC to London in between jobs. I wanted a smaller and quiter hotel (as opposed to the massive complexes in the high rise area) with a distinctive european/colonial feel and Amsterdam manor has proved to be the perfect choice! It's... more

We went to Aruba for the first time over the spring break. Me,my wife and kids 12 and 6 years old loved the hotel and Aruba. We have been to Grand Cayman and Turks before and we loved Aruba as much as Grand Cayman. We had 1 bedroom suite and a rollaway and had plenty of room.We generally love small hotels... more

Amsterdam Manor is located in Eagle Beach between the downtown and the High Rise Hotel area. The location is perfect because you're far away from the crowds. Eagle Beach is one of the best beaches in Aruba and deservingly so! To get to Eagle Beach you'll need to cross a road (not very busy), but once you do - it's... more

Horrible!! Can I please preface this by saying that I am not one of those people who is difficult to please?! But I booked a 1 bedroom suite with Amsterdam Manor back in December. I arrived last Wednesday 3/26 to have them tell me that they were overbooked, I mean can they not count how many rooms they have in... more

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with brothers. Experience was great. Staff was very pleasant and helpful a number of times. Suite was nice (door squeaked - paper held it tight). Minor matter taken care of by maintenance (safe was not working). Loved the location and would definitely go back to Amsterdam Manor again. With some exercise involved - able... more

I came prepared to love Aruba and this hotel, based on the reviews here and elsewhere. I was quite disappointed in both. First let me say that I judged everything in comparison to several past stays at Capitain Lafitte on Mexico's Riviera Maya. (That hotel unfortunately has closed and recently reopened nearby under the name Petit Lafitte.) Maybe it's not... more

We just came back from a delightful vacation at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort in Aruba. This was our first time on the island, and we picked the AMBR after much reading of both good and not so good reviews... I have to say that as expected, it was just the right place for us: small yet comfortable, friendly yet... more

My husband and I stayed at Amsterdam Manor with another couple in August 2007. It was a nice hotel with nicely refurbished rooms, beautiful architecture, a FLAWLESS beach across the street and enjoyable food and drink at Mango's and Passions restaurants. However - no offense to our comrades from Europe (I hold a very lucrative position at a fortune 500... more

After maybe 10 Caribbean trips to various islands and countries, including 3 years in a row to Aruba and AMBR, we have learned at least a few things: although many islands can be charming and beautiful at any given time, Aruba is the closest one can get to Paradise in an imperfect world, and AMBR may be the closest to... more

Beautifully located on Eagle Beach, one of the finest beaches we have ever visited. We enjoyed the relatively small size of the resort, would never have chosen to stay at one of the big hotels up the beach. Our studio was clean and had all we needed for a holiday. The staff were attentive, but not always as friendly as can be expected... more

Management response from

After the problem with the treatment plant (located in the vicinity of Amsterdam Manor) had been solved in the beginning of May 2007, there have not been any problems with an odor from the plant, since all necessary improvements have been installed by the government. The recent comments, which all date from the first weeks of January, have been the...
