Spent a week in Nelson's Dockyard, not staying at this hotel (which is really historical and beautful by the way), but stayed at the Admiral's Inn, which was terrific. Decided to venture further afield for breakfast one morning, and ended up spending almost two hours of our valuable holdaiy time having what should have been a quick breakfast visit. There... More

We decided to head to Antigua a day early to beat a snow storm out of New York and wanted a different scene than the remote resort we were headed to. The Copper and Lumber Hotel seemed ideal, and it was. The hotel is built into a historic building that ones stored, you guessed it, copper and lumber for the... More

We went with a large group of friends and couldn't resist calling in for a drink as the hotel is right in the centre of Nelson's Dockyard. After exploring the Dockyard we went into this charming original building constructed during 1783. As its name suggests it was used to store copper and lumber for ship building and maintenance. It is... More

We were impressed with Antigua as a whole: very friendly, safe, gorgeous beaches, excellent food. We chose Copper and Lumber as our base in Nelson Dockyards at English Harbor on the southern end of the island. I had a good feeling even before we arrived but it was super once we got there. The service and smiles were authentic and... More

The Copper & Lumber store is situated right in the centre of Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbour. The harbour is full of ocean going yachts and at the time we were there there was a regatta being staged, so it was very interesting to see the yachts racing. The hotel itself is full of timber panelling and the suites are... More

If you are the sort of independent traveller who enjoys staying in hotels with charm, this is for you. Otherwise Antigua has a glut of 'exclusive' resort-hotels if you want a pool, busy bar and quick access to a beach. The Copper & Lumber store stands out from the rest and suited our style; gorgeous harbour-front location where we watched... More

I must emphasise that I am not staying at this hotel. My wife and I have been here twice for breakfast, the lovely terrace overlooking the harbour is to die for. Why is this place empty for breakfast when the other places are heaving. Well it might have something to do with the service which is slow beyond belief. The... More

Stayed November 2014. Nelson's Dockyard - English Harbour. originally built in 17th century and in a beautiful setting, eat breakfast on the terrace just metres from the sea and watch the yachts sail into the harbour. Room upgraded - without us asking - which overlooked the harbour and was kept soooo cool with the air conditioning. Rooms were cleaned to... More

We all love Antigua.... Yes and what about the Copper and Lomber store hotel? If this hotel wasn't there, the English Harbour would miss a piece of history and a piece of present too. The staff make my day start in a best mood every morning, they are skillful  and helpful if in needs. Being a guest in the marvellous... More

Our stay at Copper & Lumber made our nautical-history based vacation real. Positives: totally charming, excellent restoration (see "before" pictures in the Museum next door), very helpful staff, excellent location (St. Johns is 45 min drive, as is Jolly Harbor), great place to watch really expensive yachts come and go, convenient to explore the historic dockyard and its history. Negatives:... More
