My husband and I went there for spring break in 2008. We both have extremely stressful jobs and we wanted to relax for a bit. Our flight was delayed and we got there two days later. Needless to say we did not get our money back. The room was dated, TV did not work on any channels, we did not... More

It is most unfortunate that this matter has taken a year to be aired on Trip Advisor as I am sure that had we received this before now we would have been able to better assist in resolving this matter in the best way possible. For your information the Blue Heron by rex resorts has been closed since August 2008.... More

We made a reservation back in January 2008 for 4 nights for Nov 8 to 12 2008. We received a confirmation email and our credit card was charged for the entire stay. So now less than a week before traveling to Antigua my husband happened to check the Rex Resorts website. It says: "Please be aware this hotel will be... More

Excellent location on the beach but unfortunately too many beach vendors who felt the need to bother you every day. I felt the management/security could have stopped this. Like most of the hotels in the caribbean the rooms were in need of upgrading but it was not the worst. It was an all-inclusive hotel and the food was fine most... More

My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at Antigua and Barbuda. We stayed at this calm hotel. We stayed from July 15 to July 23. Our days at this hotel were great. When we were not in beach we were touring the entire island. People at Antigua were nice and polite. Our budget kept us away from eating... More

If it wasn't for the wonderful beach on its doorstep there is no reason to stay at the Blue Heron. Its facilities are limited, the rooms are shabby and worn and the staff, though very friendly and welcoming, are fairly ineffectual. That said, the beach (Turners Beach) is the reason to go there and it is a wonderful beach. We... More

This was our second visit to the Blue Heron, our first being in year 2000 for our honeymoon. We were initially a little apprehensive about returning to a hotel where we had enjoyed a fantastic holiday - we weren't sure whether it could still live up to our expectations. Needless to say our fears were unfounded, the Blue Heron is... More

We have just returned from a wonderful honeymoon at Blue Heron, which was everything we dreamed of and more. It may not be 5-star luxury, but for a really relaxing holiday in a comfortable, friendly environment and an idyllic location, it must be hard to beat. Whilst our beachfront room was relatively basic, it was clean and had everything we... More

I last visited in 2005 and the transformation is amazing. The new manager, Ms Adams has worked wonders in her short time there. She is a dynamic hands-on, who quite happily fills in in any capacity if needed. The food was of a much higher standard with lots of variety. The staff are unbelievable. Nothing was too much trouble and... More

Firstly, this property has the most stunning and uncrowded beach. Unfortunately, it seems to soley rely on that fact as the rest of the property is hideous. Whilst the rooms could be considered to be 'clean', they are poorly maintained. The food is extremely limited and not to a very good standard. At times the staff appear surly and dissinterested.... There have been continual improvements being made prior to May 2008. New bath-tubs, toilets and vanity units and shower heads are being installed in all rooms. More
