Just back from a week in the Halcyon Cove - before going obviously read these reviews and was a bit nervous but all in all would say the hotel is a bit dated but clean and the beautiful surroundings make it an enjoyable place to chill out for a week. We were upgraded from a standard room to a pool-side... more

I have just returned today from this hotel. I had read the reviews before arriving, so sort of expected a below standard hotel. One thing I would not have been able to cope with was cold water and luckily for us we had hot water all the time we were there. We had two rooms one for us and one... more

This was booked as a timeshare exchange through RCI. I ended up paying to change my room from the booked and already paid for RCI exchange of a studio to what is considered a one bedroom. Supposedly there were "no other studios" in the timeshare area. The problem with the studio room was not the size, but the condition of... more

We vacationed at the Halcyon Cove in February and before our trip we were a bit nervous because of all the bad reviews the resort had received. After returning from a week in pure paradise I couldn't disagree more with the negative comments. I found the staff to be very friendly and warm - the location incredible - and the... more

The rooms at this place were last refurbished circa 1960, and although the brochure stated "recently refurbished", there wasnt much evidence of it. Food restricted to a buffet that seldom changes, greasy chips for lunch, Pier restaurant closed most of the time. Only one bar is open, a dilapidated structure next to the beach. Poor selection of drinks, every night... more

We booked a weeks stay at the Halcyon Cove as a last minute break through Virgin. Due to it being a last minute booking the Halcyon was the only hotel that we could get in to. After reading the reviews posted here prior to arriving at the Halcyon, we had a fair idea of why and what to expect!.. The... more

I have read all of the reviews listed for this resort. It is not that bad. You can find negative in everything if you try hard enough-not saying that is what everyone did. I just came back yesterday, and was there for a week. It is an absolutely beauitful beach! Further down, the other resorts beaches don't even come close.... more

I bought a two week stay at this hotel for my husbands 40th birthday. I saved for 2 years and realise I totally wasted my time, money and excitement. On arrival all looked well, but a 45 minute wait to be taken to our room soured things. Our room was tatty, some temporary repairs had been made put poorly executed.... more

This was the worst hotel experiance i have ever had. The reception staff were very very rude and constantly ignored all my requests. After changing rooms because the first room was very dark with lights and safe not working, I was put in a room with curtains hanging off the rail bathroom taps not fixed, very tired decor and very... more
